Season 1 of the get down was ass, I tried really hard to like it but I couldn't after 3 episodea. Is season 2 that much better?

I liked season 2 of the Get Down a lot. It gets really intense. Although I know some people don't like Marlene and most of the intense shit revolves around her and her family. The Jaden Smith and his man love romance isn't one of the highest points but I got over it.
