C’mon man, I’m not trying insult your intelligence. You and I have been on this message board for too many years to disrespect each other like that. I’m not gonna assume what you think, so I’d appreciate if you give me the same courtesy of not assuming what I think.

Anyway, I already said that Kamala might end up being the best candidate, But that needs to be proven, The truth is, there aren’t enough of us never-Trump voters to guarantee her a victory.

Allowing MSNBC and CNN to tell the American people that Kamala Harris has support without actually proving it could be us walking into a bear trap.

I remember The 2016 election night. I remember sitting in my business math class, at the local community college. I remember my instructor (A middle-aged white woman) Being so giddy because we were about to have our first female president. I remember she even let us leave class 20 minutes early so we can go home and watch the results on the news. The reason why she felt so confident was because MSNBC, CNN and a lot of other websites and TV channels were full of pundits And politicians Who were positive that The numbers were gonna swing Hillary Clinton’s Way.

I don’t want that to happen again, I don’t want a November surprise because we were lulled into a False sense of security. Because we did not get the full scope of The actual level of support and not the cable news level of support.

if after the convention, or some sort of primary, that shows Kamala Harris really is a choice. I’ll be the first one casting my vote in November.

The other likely candidates are not opposing her at the DNC though. I agree with you and I am confident she would win an open democratic primary because she has the base voters. I hope she picks Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona for her Vice-President. He is from a border state and knows the issues as an experienced U.S. Senator. I would also suggest former Two-Time Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf. He has to richer and deeper roots in the Keystone state than Josh Shapiro and Joe Biden. He would beat the brakes off of JD Vance in the debate too

 

I have to give the Dems credit, for how fast they got behind Harris. Even though not one single voter has cast a ballot for her, she has received all the delegates she needs for the nomination.

Since she is locked in now, she needs to quickly pivot to appealing to the undecided voters. She needs to go after Trump's age, his aura of chaos, and his connection to Project 2025.

Even though Trump is a convicted felon, she might want to avoid slamming him too hard, because they will hit her back with her mistakes as a prosecutor. Remember, it was her record of questionable prosecutions that turned a lot of black folks against her in 2020.

She should avoid making her "historic" candidacy a front-page story. There are quite a few people who are not comfortable with a female president, and even more who are not comfortable with another brown-skinned president. She needs to pull a page from the Obama campaign and make sure she is seen as president first and a minority second. If Trump convinces voters that a Harris cabinet will look like the cast from The View, it could turn off, fence-ridding white male voters, and conservative democrats.

Picking Senator Mark Kelly as her VP would be smart, because he would give her a real chance in Arizona.
She should avoid Josh Shapiro, because his hardline support of Israel, could turn off young ultra-liberal voters.
Tom Wolf, is too old, it would make it hard to go after Trump for his age.

She has a long road ahead of her I hope, she gets the right people in place to help her pull this off.

 

First off I apologize for my last reply to you because this is partly the reason why I responded the way that I did.

So are you talking about the whole Copmala/Mass Incarceration of Black Men narrative that was created & pushed by Hoteps/Hotep adjacent Black folks in order to discredit her during her 2020 run & is now itself being called into question or are you talking about the Willie Horton style narrative now being pushed by MAGA that she was far too soft on crime because she refused to hand down harsh sentences like life in prison or the death penalty to people (primarily Black men) charged with misdemeanor drug offenses?

 

To be honest, I never really understood where the strange animosity some Black people had for her came from. But I do remember, that early in her campaign her opponents successfully smeared her as an overzealous prosecutor (of minorities), and she was also fairly or unfairly labeled as a hypocrite for throwing the book at drug possesors while laughing on talk radio about smoking a joint in her college days. As a result, she never finished higher than third place among Black folks when given a chance to vote for her. She needs to turn that around this time. Biden was already hemorrhaging black support, and she, by happenstance and fate has inherited his record.

Her life as a "top cop" of California doesn't help her in a general election vs. Trump, mostly because the people who like Trump literally couldn't care less if he had a rap sheet as long as his leg. However her negatives from 2020 are still out there, so it's best she avoided giving Trump ammunition to go after her weaknesses.
She has to jab at Trump's vulnerabilities while keeping her own flank covered.

 

Tom Wolf is old but still younger than Trump. I hope she can get his support as she campaigns around Pennsylvania. The GOP doesn't have the PA surrogate support that Kamala Harris can call upon: Josh Shapiro, Jon Fetterman, Tim Casey, Tom Wolf and Joe Biden can be helpful to hold PA. Plus Michelle Obama is beloved in Philadelphia as is Barack Obama. It's all hands on deck to hold Pennsylvania for the Democrats!!
