Very interesting read on the views of blacks folks by white folks in general and in the political race between Barack & MacCain. Click the link We Still Don't Like Black People The quote below is from the article, I actually believe this is very true amongst us but not across the board... Given a choice of several positive and negative adjectives that might describe blacks, 20 percent of all whites said the word "violent" strongly applied. Among other words, 22 percent agreed with "boastful," 29 percent "complaining," 13 percent "lazy" and 11 percent "irresponsible." When asked about positive adjectives, whites were more likely to stay on the fence than give a strongly positive assessment.
From a genetic standpoint, hating white people and LOVING (as in, reproducing with) white women are one in the same. In other words...our "hate" for white people manifests itself through our "love" for white women
This quote disturbed me, "Three in 10 of those Democrats who don't trust Obama's change-making credentials say they plan to vote for McCain. " Also the use of the word violent. I have known many more white men in my life who have abused their women.
I don't think we should take this article seriously. GOP supporters own the media. They probably made up this stuff in order to discourage people from supporting Obama.
Wait, what?? GOP supporters own the media? The media is known for being very liberal. I'd have to disagree with you there. Nice quote, btw.
I dislike white men,but like some white women Dont know where that puts me now that i think about it alot of black dudes are like that
Total 100% Myth, its the "Rights" constant attacking of the Major Media that tagged them with infamous "Liberal" title and it stuck. Then again you'll never find the word "Liar" in the Washington Post.... Off topic but on point... That pole doesn't surprise me, save for the vast majority of people that don't think about the color of one's skin, there are enough of these idiots out there that feel they can't be totally honest to a pollster about this question, because your a social outcast if your labeled a "racist" as I have said for a while now, its not PC to be an extremest when it comes to racial views. As Black Agenda Report's editor Paul Street stated - The closer Barack Obama gets to the White House, the quicker some white folks are to declare that the United States is a "self-correcting" nation that is miraculously curing itself of racism. They are encouraged by Obama, himself, who "has shown a disturbing propensity to see the racism that oppresses and angers black America as purely a function of past injustice." Far too many Americans "fail to understand and/or refuse to acknowledge cold realities reflecting the perverse color politics of the post-Civil Rights age of neoliberal racism." The rise of Obama has given white America yet one more "shining opportunity to congratulate itself" Yep Liberal Americans are patting themselves on the back for this one :smt021 I think its safe to say about 35% of the country harbors those negative views about Black people and that includes White women. Frankly that's just too many, it should be closer to about 2% or even 5% of the populations because you'll never get the country completely on board with this, at least not for another say 50 years and that's only if Michelle Obama in day one as First Lady handles the deep social problems facing the country, Barack won't have time for it, trust me. But I'm just about "done" with the US and ready to go, fact finding mission in March or April of next year. Even with Obama in the White House, I question the level of reform we'll see. I'll feel much better if they get draconian with the Bail Out of Wall Street and impose a "freeze" on forclosures, then I'll know their serious about this, instead of waffling like they have been doing in congress when they have control of the House. Amerikkka isn't just for shits and giggles its the truth...
I was telling cats long before the primaries that this election would show America's true colors and a lotta racists would mysteriously come out of the woodwooks because of it. I'm sure that plenty more people whom we never thought was racist will show who they really are in the coming weeks and months. As far as the cure for racism, this here website and message-board is definitely a start. Even though I'm a "glass half-full" kind of guy, the actions of various people during this election both black and white has disturbed me. However, we still have a long way to go and I know that one day it will indeed be a non-issue. Contrary to popular opinion, Dr. King did NOT die in vain.:smt045
I still remain convinced that the idea of Barack Obama solving the nation's racial problems is a mistake of draconian orders.
I agree. It's not only gonna take the executive branch, but the judicial, as well as the legislative branch along with the American people to solve this nation's problems. The question that remains is: how are we all going to get on one accord? If we did it before, we can do it again. It won't happen overnight though.
This is a very interesting article by Brent Staples. www.nytimes.com/2008/09/22/opinion/22observer.html?_r=1&oref=slogin Barack Obama, John McCain and the Language of Race
I clocked for myself some racists from Ohio on television last night, talking about how Obama can't be a real, patriotic American. Australians on the whole very much want Obama to win. Not that its relevant, but a study here showed Obama would win by 70% if Aussies were voting! I'm not suprised, his political views are far more in line with our new leader (Kevin Rudd). We threw out John Howard (conservative- more like a republican bent). Mostly becuase we were sick of our soliders going to war to support George Bush's war, when we have spent most of his term in office criticising his foreign policy, lamenting that he basically stole your election, and wondering how such a powerful country ended up with a man leading it who seems so well..dumb! Pity we aren't voting, as there is plenty of support for Obama here if needed :smt106
Oh you haven't seen the worst yet, how about this nutcase - Values Voter, what a CROCK! http://richarddawkins.net/articleCo...aks-her-mind-on-Obama,Now-on-PBS,page7#269365
