Hello all, I saw Rudy Giuliani (sorry not sure of spelling) trying to drum up some love for the republican camp yesterday. In Australia, we use a phrase called "dog whistle politics" quite alot. I'm sure you guys have it in your political landscape too. Basically, like whistling to a dog they run undertones but can't actually say it- creating negative associations. For example, yesterday Rudy Giuliani was talking about how Obama's policies on wealth distribution aren't 'American', and they are 'foreign to America'- dog whistling those xenophobes buried deep within. It's a pretty pathetic way to do business and signals fear of defeat. Poor sooks, with old Colin jumping camps.
Giuliani is a dirtbag. I have never liked the guy. He's too sly and will fight dirty even when it isnt necessary.
Like most Republicans of late, Giuliani is fighting against his own obsolescence. I wouldn't put too much stock in what he has to say.
