Who is your favorite President?

I don't have any cultural amnesia. I don't call bombing a baby milk factory in Sudan, invading countries who didn't do anything to us (Bosnia, Kosovo and Haiti) or keeping crippling sanctions in place (Iraq) something to brush aside. Maybe some think it's ok because it was a Democratic administration, but I don't

Hmmm so was this better or worse than the last eight years?

 

People were being held for indefinate periods of time without counsel or even their families being able to know they were alive.

People are dying in ICE detention centers and the government claim not to be keeping records so we do not know how many or if they were murdered.

Police can now "sneek and peek" without a warrant.

Your conversations with your lawyer are no longer considered confidential, they can wiretap and listen legally.

The war crimes alone are staggering, they destroyed most of the pictures from Abu Ghirab because they were so inflammatory.

The problem isnt amnesia, it is that we have been intentionally kept in the dark. Our news agencies have turned into entertainment businesses. News is no longer tested against a rule of truth, but is measured for its shock value or entertainment factor.

As the Guantanamo prisoners are released and tell their stories, there will be many more attacks like Mumbai where US and British are targeted with military precision. It is directly linked to Bushes failed foreign policy and his ignorance of cultural differences.

As Malcolm so infamously said, our chickens are gonna come home to roost.

 

I don't think either presidencies were any good. I'm not gonna say one was better or worse than the other because both had their faults, Clinton's I just mentioned. Now, just so you don't think I'm letting Bush off the hook, I will point out his faults

The Iraq War: Invading a country under a pretext of stopping a chemical weapons program, which turns out there was none. Of course, Iraq never harmed us in any way in the first place, but that part seems to be overlooked

Liberia: Once again, this country never did anything to us, but Bush decided that their leader had to go, so the Navy came to the coast and kicked Charles Taylor out

Bush's disregard for the Constitution is appalling. This man came in as a fiscal conservative, but we've seen nothing of the sort. Every year, domestic spending has increased, and he didn't have Democrats to blame for that in his first term either. He's nothing but a big-government Republican hawk

Those are some of the things I didn't like about his Presidency

I just want to say, I've been recently impressed with Barak Obama of all people. He is beginning to show he can and will make some wise decisions. I'm beginning to think he may not be quite the puppet of the extreme left that he portrayed himself as during his candidacy.

He might make them mad at him. But so far, he's setting things up pretty decent.

Maybe he will go down in history as one of the GREATS, I sure hope so.

 

You mean the way the McCain/Palin campaign and the RNC portrayed him.

 

Barack Obama's a politician no different than any other. Politicians will say whatever they have to to get elected

 

No sir, I judge people by themselves and not by what others say about them. I had the impression he was a bit of a puppet by his own words. I watched his debates and is press-conferences and other interviews.

 

You can say this 6 billion times over....
