The Passion of Christ lives! Christ reigns regardless of whether people recognize his reign. He reigns because God appointed him to reign, not because we grant him rule. Christianity is the religion liberals love to hate, or at least say they hate. If the name of this thread were "Happy Ramadan" I don't think it would draw any ridicule.
Because you are not Muslim you do not notice the insults directed at Muslims on this site. I pretty much dont speak on any religious issues because of it. But go on and bring Islam into something that has nothing to do with it. It is constantly brought up where it has no bearing by the "Christians".
I don't understand the use of quotations around Christian. I am aware that you are Muslim (or that you worship/observe Islam, I'm sure I've stated that incorrectly) because you have mentioned it at least twice in the 6 months that I have been here. I don't doubt that some things have been said that you consider insenstive, perhaps even by me. In this case though Fly Girl, I'm talking about direct ridicule, and liberals love to do that about Christianity. I brought Ramadan up as an example because Islam is the first major non-Christian religion that comes to mind. No insult intended.
Sorry if it came of particularly harsh. It just seems any time Christianity catches heat the Christians immediately bring up Islam. Why not Judism (sp)? We Muslims catch enough heat on our own, we dont need to keep being drug into issues that have nothing to do with us.

I somewhat dig Buddhism, particularly the philosophical wing of it. Any belief system that demands piety to an invisible man is something I'm going to leave on the sidewalk though. The supernatural is completely natural.
I view it somewhat differently... I pay attention not so much to dogmas themselves, but rather the effect that piety has on human beings... how it ends up shaping our lives... and that's universal in all religions. I don't value religion only for the psychological effect, but I think that the value of church rituals is primarily that they put us in the state of mind and heart that brings us closer to God. I'm not an expert, it's my own clumsy ideas.
