Where do you get your news?

CNN, CBS, ABC, and PBS for television. I look at Yahoo when I first get online. I used to love SportsCenter back in the day when it was just scores & highlights, but now it's become nothing but news, opinions, and analysis. I'd much rather watch ESPNNEWS because I wanna know who won and that's it.


I watch Fox News purely for the sake of comedy.:smt042:smt043

Since moving to the States - I try to get the same news from both CNN and Fox - to get the whole story - sometimes things get... uh..omited.. and watching both gets you a better idea...imho.
I also tend to go check on BBC for international events. Still go to Swedish newspapers OL.

 

I read as many of the newsmagazines I can get my hands on like Time, Newsweek, U.S. News and World Reports. I read both of my local newspapers (as bias as they are). On Sunday I watch the talking head programs on NBC, ABC, FOX and C-SPAN. During the week I get my news from FOX News exclusively (Shepard Smith). I watch Bill O' Reilly, Hannity, Greta, and Beck when I can. C-SPAN is the best in terms of governmental information.

 

I used to watch Fox News a lot back in the late 90s. I just can't watch it anymore. The network is too neocon for my tastes now

I was a big C-Span fan too. I don't get up early enough anymore to watch Washington Journal anymore, though. I might just record it from now on

 

The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, McClatchy Online, BBC World, occasionally PBS and NPR, and a few left leaning blogs (Daily Kos, Talking Points Memos and Fire Dog Lake are my favorites). I generally avoid watching television news (network or cable) on a regular basis. I find that the video blog Crooks and Liars does an excellent of job extracting the few salient incidents that occur daily in television news from the mind-numbing stream of pablum that is usually on the air.


ETA: I also frequent Media Matters. This site does an excellent job of pointing blatant lies that are told daily in the made and exposing outrageous statements made by Conservatives.

 

Have you heard of Democratic Underground? I have an account on that site posing as a liberal so I can get the scoop on what you guys are thinking.

 

Yeah, I have an account on DU as well. And like you, I also like to see what the opposition has to say for themselves. When I have time, I visit wingnut sites like Free Republic, Town Hall, Red State, Little Green Footballs and Michelle Malkin's blog for shits and giggles.

lol, here's me thinking I was the only one who visits Media Matters. They're a real hit when it comes to exposing blatant lies by right wing nuts, and the so-called "liberal media."

I visit the crazy sites too i.e. townhall.com, newsbusters, debbieschlussel.com etc. Not because i particularly care about the loons on it, just to see what they say and do. As they say in the art of war, you have to know what your enemy is thinking in order to defeat them.

 

If the media is not liberal then what is it? New York times attacks on John Mccain. The Media was drooling to get dirt on Sara Palin. Obama was not vetted by the mainstream media. The only way we found out about Wright and Ayers was through Fox news.

 

See, this is why I love you conservative republicans. You all have become my main source of amusement. I hope you all never ever go anywhere because all these up-and-coming comics and television screenwriters are gonna need some new comedic material.
