I really didn't see any racism there. I saw some stupid comments, but no racism. The left-wingers should suck it up and get over it. They got the guy they wanted in the White House, so they have to put up with attacks from the right-wing. It was the same thing when the right-wing had the White House. It's all a fucking game anyways. Everything your side does is great, and everything the other does is diabolical, and vice-versa

If I were you, I'd avoid engaging Dex on this issue. His political commentary is pretty much limited to regurgitating Libertarian talking points ad infinitum and claiming that both Liberals and Conservatives are always equally corrupt and at fault no matter the details of the situation at hand. Apparently, this nonsense is so deeply ingrained that he won't even bat an eyelash when such hideous comments are made about an 11 year old girl because she is the child of a prominent politician and somehow a legitimate representative of his policies. Additionally, the guy got offended when some members here called Pat Buchanan a bigot, so I'm not surprised that he claims not to see the racism in those comments.

The second one you quoted was. The other two, while they were stupid and uncalled for, we not racist in and of themselves.

If you're trying to say that there are some people who don't like Obama because he's black, then you'd be correct. But rather than only getting angry about ad-hominem attacks on Obama (some of which were racist), why not get angry about the irony of his daughter wearing a peace sign t-shirt while her daddy's dropping bombs on people in Afghanistan and lobbing drones against Pakistan

 

So when I talk about how two-faced and hypocritical the left and the right are, you get mad and say I'm regurgitating libertarian talking points? You can call them what you want, but it's the truth. Obama is bombing people in Afghanistan right now. Did you know that? Or do you not even care, as long as you get free health care? I don't like when people make bigoted comments about others. I don't agree with those posters on that site. I think the comments were wrong and I want nothing to do with people who think that way. But don't think I'm gonna go and support Obama because some bigots attack him. And just because some on here think Pat Buchanan is a bigot doesn't mean that 1) I have to believe that, because I don't; or 2) that he is. Pat Buchanan is one of the few conservatives who speaks out against American meddling in the affairs on other nations. I support him, and if you don't like that, too bad. You're not my boss and I'm not your servant. I don't answer to you or anyone else. I answer to me.

I don't believe Pat Buchanan is racist. I've listened to him for quite a while and I've never heard him spew racism. Unless you're the type of person who believes that just because one holds right-conservative positions on race, that makes one racist.

And your Hitler reference is pitiful. How the hell can you compare Buchanan to Hitler? Buchanan is not a dictator. He never invaded another country. He never hurt anyone. What's next? Stalin? Pol Pot? Idi Amin? Pinochet? Chairman Mao? Who else you gonna compare Buchanan to?

Like I said, it's pointless to engage in a debate with you on this topic. This is a baffling statement to make in earnest. I can only assume that either you are astonishingly naive or you're being deliberately obtuse and feigning ignorance about the faults of a person with whom agree to a certain extent politically. The latter is the wont of many people who in engage in political or social discourse these days.

If you are being serious, then I have to tell you that I, like many others, take issue with Pat Buchanan because he is a dinosaur who is stuck somewhere in the mid-1950s when it comes to social issues not because he is a Conservative.

Actually it makes sense to compare Pat Buchanan to Hitler, in that Buchanan has completemented Hitler in the past, so he probably wouldn't mind the comparison.

 

It should come as no surprise. Liberals got their full of ragging on Bush and conservatives now have the opportunity to push back on Obama. He is a dream for them; a black, urban, Ivy-League, basketball-loving, intellectual liberal. Obama's biggest advantage is that he has some Southern Baptist preacher in him which gives him a level of charisma that allows him to be seen as something more than just a bookworm (no offense bookie).

That is the price for being in power...holding the executive branch and both houses of the legislature. I think most Dems would rather be in power and take potshots from conservatives than to be out of power like they were during most of Bush's administration. Dems played defense now we've got to play offense because the ball is in our hand.

I think when it comes to Dex, we just have to remember that he is still a very young person, hopefully he will gain more wisdom, critical thinking skills and insight as he ages.

Buchanan does not like Hitler. He doesn't support what Hitler did to people in Germany. He called him a genocidal racist and anti-semite, which he was. I think that outweighs any "compliments" Buchanan gave Hitler

 

Good lord Dex, what person in his right mind would ever compliment Hitler for ANY reason? The man was the architect of one of the most evil and destructive chapters in human history.
