Radicalizing Africa and african Americans to Islam

Is it possible that Africa will radicalize to Islam? I hear that the next worry for the United States behind Yemen is Somalia, Nigeria and possibly the Sudan. The panty bomber from Nigeria that would pass for an American black has people in a tizzy. What if the american blacks become radicalized like the panty bomber from Nigeria to Islam?

 

In my trips to Kenya, I've rarely seen a muslim. Most Kenyans are strong christians. I don't see them converting any time soon. As for the rest of Africa, I don't know. Tanzania seemed extremely christian to me too. *shrugs*

All these folks if they are caught in acts of attempted or actual terrorism beyond a doubt should be court-martialed and shot forthwith. If it was me the crotchbomber would already be dead by firing squad.

 

I wouldn't go as far as saying Not Gonna Happen. There has been an attempt to blow up The Tube in London by a group that included Somalian(s), Ethiopian(s), I believe an Eritrean too, all three countries in Africa. There has been a case in the U.S. by a Moroccan, also an African. Most people don't understand that Somalia is the only country in the world that is 100% islam and all speak one language. How many of those do you have to radicalize to get a militant out of them. Ethiopia and Eritrea each have approximately 50% their population Islam. Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria are all over 90% Islam. So too are Senegal and Mali but very moderate. I don't remember which one but one of these countries has even elected a christian president in the past. I guess my point is it doesn't take the entire population to breed radicals. If you've been to any middle eastern country you would mostly like not come across any radical. They're all super friendly and welcoming. Yes they may voice some opinions about the western world but that's about it. But that's not to say there aren't any radicals, obviously.

 

I think you mean Guinea - it was a Coup of some members of the presidential guard and the military-the president/ one of these members (Conseil National de la Démocratie et du Développement, CNDD) is Christian

And equally, because a few of their citizens are terrorists, doesnt mean that that particular country is anti western. Most of the 9/11 people came from the Kingdom of Saudi arabia.

And you are right- in Guinea, you don´t feel as in a country of Muslims- they are extremely tolerant about religions. In Senegal it´s much more different, the political influence is much bigger (Marabouts)- so the people are also much more orientated to the muslim religion.
Sierra Leone seems to me more mixed- english language, muslim names,muslims and convertion to Christians..
