Why expect someone else when we can do it ourselves? I'm currently writing a pilot for a TV series meant for the likes of HBO or Showtime. A drama series...

Big Brother Wise, I hope your pilot gets to the right producers since it would take cable or satellite TV to have good IR on the screen.

It would take a long while before the right producers accept it. I mean, it's an interesting take on the notion of interracial relationships...but I want to go into a different direction instead of the usual sitcom programming.

In comparison to comedy,a serious IR series would be a little hard.

It's doable. I mean everything's easier as a sitcom, no matter how shitty it is. You could even make a sitcom TV series strictly about peg-legged homeless people dry humping cans of leftover tuna and you can turn it into comical gold.

Dramas are a serious bunch to pull off and regarding interracial relationships...it would be better to construct a story as a series exploring the characters in serious situations. I have the general idea laid out and you can say that the setting revolves around the IR theme...particularly a neighborhood with a history pertaining to its social evolutionary scheme of things. Politically oriented and socially oriented that amass much controversy and the denizens who resides there, namely the main cast had something to do with that neighborhood's gradual change over time into what it is now.

It sounds like a good idea. I look forward when it comes a pilot or a series on cable one day.

    Hey, why don't you make a mini-series?

So far, I'm working on a fictional history of the neighborhood. And now the characters are going to be problematic. I have to flesh out each story.

It'll be a drama series. I'd like to keep it going for at least five seasons and build the world around it.

You are welcome and when it comes on DVD I will buy it since I very rarely ever buy a tv series.

That is a bit far off...but it's all good.

    Mind you, BBW.

How long a pilot episode are you going to write? Is it going to be a two hour long?

It would have to be an hour long. Two hours would really be pushing it.

I want to make it into a series. The idea I have in mind is formatted to be a TV show meant for the likes of Showtime or HBO.
