That's the different between the ol' school crowd like us and the younger generation now. They're conditioned to think that there must be a clear cut winner in a fight because they are scare to look weak in others eyes. That's why you get something like in this situation where mulitiple people will gang up to beat one person or they will be truly cowardly and shot or stab someone rather than "look bad" by possibly getting their ass whooped in a one on one fight with someone.

i guess maybe it's a little of both. i know there is violence out there, but i've only witnessed it myself a couple of times. my ex-husband nearly got in a fight twice and both times i stepped in and calmed the situation down and an ex-boyfriend got the stuffing beat out of him outside a pub once for no reason.
