It goes back even further - there was no Congressional declaration of war for our involvement in Korea or Vietnam either. Obama is hardly innovative in this respect.
Gov. Mitch Daniels Opts Out of Presidential Campaign, damn he was suppose to be one of the repubs best guy could possibly beat BO. They are dropping like flies, Huckabee, Trump, Daniels...
True. But, Pres. Obama was smart to pass the baton off to NATO and leave the ground fighting to the rebels. This will not become a Korean War, Vietnam War, Iraq War or Afghanistan War. This conflict is seen as a civil war that has international consequences that is why the U.N. imposed sanctions and voted to authorize a no-fly zone over Libya and military action, to protect civilians against Gaddafi's army.
For the time being.... NATO doesn't seem to be as skilled at bombing, and I truly wonder whether air power alone will accomplish NATO's apparent goal of regime change. I don't want to hijack the nutty Ron Paul thread, but there are a lot of things about that Security Council resolution that are very, very interesting including the Security Council's stated support for the democratic rights of the Libyan people. This is especially interesting when you consider who's on the SC....
Tim Pawlenty a Populist-Leaning Conservative will be running he will announce Monday. He will be the great white hope of the republican party. Romney has a shot but, I doubt it. Mitt Romney is a Mormon and white Christian southerners in polls said they would vote for a black man before voting for a Mormon. Besides Romney has tried to cover his backside because of his firm support for universal healthcare in Mass. he looks like a hypocrite attacking Pres. Obama. He also made his money using 'roll-up' buying companies in the same industry in order to expand revenues and cut costs. He cut cost by cutting workers, the company loses value and stockholders and creditors lose money. He often sells companies at high prices that have little value after he gets through charging management fees, the companies then go bankrupt. It is foul business.
It would be fun to see how a resolution supporting the democratic rights of people in Russia or, better yet, the PRC would fare.
only to the posters of white women black men, would a true sovereign society be considered BAD or problematic... because of course things are working so flawlessly right now. Glad none of you believe in the constitution ! the world would be a much better place without it. Dictatorship is awesome ! Mao Zedong must be a hero in all of your eyes. Yeah, basically old, property owning, WASP would benefit from it. You must like to be at the bottom of the barrel, huh?
Last course I've taken relating to political science was Civics in my high school and I was taught by a conservative former Navy Captain. Nice guy, but he had a few screws loose.
...but I own my own business, on my way to getting a masters degree, on my way to making 6 figures annually, have zero debt and have friends of all races and cultures. Guess I'm wrong for wanting to have FULL control over a business I built. Guess I should not want to keep more of my hard earned money. Guess if there was complete freedom white people would progress and Black people would regress (according to a majority of you). Why do some of you feel you need white people to give you hand outs ? I don't see my Indian friends adopting this mind set and they own their own business'ES. My Asian friends are doing pretty well earning 6 figures and they love the idea of true free markets and constitutionalism. My black friends who are in show business don't want to worry about unreasonably high taxes which doesn't even go towards improving America (see Federal Bank robs everyone on tax day). Why do you folks feel like people prefer mega corporations over community based businesses ? Not sure who YOU ALL ARE or the people YOU KEEP COMPANY WITH but my friends and I prefer Communities, small businesses and supporting local farmers. Maybe its a socioeconomic issue....Maybe its a class issue.... Myself a few family members and most of my friends are achievers and we all believe in small government, little to no taxes, local businesses and constitutionalism. the point is, our lives are good but they could be better. We want the freedom of choice ! We don't want mega corporations like Monsanto putting our organic farmers out of business, we don't want a DICTATOR president starting wars to steal people's oil...err pardon create a (Central Bank FIAT currency run) Democracy. We don't want Obama's failure health care. We don't want a rigid uniform federally imposed education system which is clearly NOT working. We don't need the FDA or EPA to regulate ANYTHING if we became like Europe and only ate fresh organic foods (supplied by local farmers). We don't need a bunch a big pharma corporations creating problems to sell more poison pills and meds. ahhh dammit whats the use... stupid people love living in a world of stupidity...I'm done, hope all you O'Bomber supporters are in the minority..because if we have another 4 years of this man... I only hope OUR way of life doesn't DEGRADE. http://youtu.be/QpCeCaRTWLg
Damn skippy. The best alternative you can come up with is to make everybody have to compete for the most basic of shyt... Hint: That doesn't always mean becoming socialist. silly false dichotomies.. What a world.....:smt088
1. Congratulations that you are able to achieve your status through hard work. We've all done it too or on our way to achieving all that! And guess what?! None of us rely on government subsidies, but if the offers are there, we'll take advantage of that! Why? It's because the government give us an OPTION! Yes, a word you so seemingly overlook. There's no FORCED effort through government since you have a CHOICE to accept or decline. Did that fly over your head? 2. Your first paragraph relating to who you associate with tells me you're lying right there. Why bring that up in the first place? It only reinforces some ideas about who we're dealing with here...a quintessential nut with little consideration. 3. Little to no taxes? Look, as much as we all enjoy the idea behind it, the fact of the matter is that paying taxes help keep the government alive. Without taxes, there wouldn't be a government and shit would hit the fan. And yes, I'm still affirming that the general human race are panicky, stupid, and downright simple and selfish. If you don't want to pay taxes, you CAN op out by Expatriation. That way, you can KEEP all your money. But you know what? You're causing more harm than good. 4. The constitution basically is a flawed document since it catered to one particular group of people. It made some small revisions since the changing attitudes, such as owning slaves (hey, it's business and people should be allowed to do it yes?) and freely disenfranchise people (or as libertarians call it, free market considerations). Despite these minor changes, that so called "perfect document" only benefits an elite class, which basically makes it all the more detrimental and even more dangerous. 5. Small businesses, local farmers, etc...all that are perfectly reasonable considerations since they, including the middle class, make up a lot of the jobs. But again, business is business and people like to get greedy and screw over those small businesses to make MORE money. Again, you don't see how regulation can help keep the middle class alive here? 6. Lastly, you DO have freedom of choice, and yet Freedom isn't free! Do you understand that the context freedom isn't meant to be taken too literally? We're a nation of laws and while we have the full gravity of force to exercise our rights to do as we please, we also must adhere to the basic foundations of the people. Don't want people to get royally screwed over by businesses of any kind and also avoid contributing to this nation. We're a unified country and that's why taxes hold value in that regard. 7. To say you have no freedom further reinforces that you're completely delusional and need to read your history, as well as the Constitution.
Your story is not new and you are NOT that special my friend. It's as old as the history of black people since the time of slavery. One slave is allowed to indulge in a few pleasures, work in the big house and suddenly he forgets his brothers, loses all sense of self, the plight of others and follows the master blindly. He's blinded by the possibility of continuing his "special" treatment and would do anything to maintain his place in the master's house, he loses his soul... Your arrogance is at once insulting and laughable. Do you actually believe that having a master's degree, making less than six figures and having a business allow you to suggest that you have more class than others? There're many of us who are more educated and have achieved more success than you will probably ever know, and yet we understand the reality of our lives. We know that while we are fortunate. others in our families, our friends and community haven't been blessed with the same opportunities. You haven't addressed ANY of the responses made to you by various posters showing that your ideology and facts are plainly wrong. You continue only to parrot rhetoric like someone spinning in circles and never moving forward. Yes, you are wrong for believing that you should have ultimate control over a business you built because you still subject to laws. But, I'm sure you have selective indignation and take full advantage of those laws that allow a business to significantly reduce its reported income, while allowing the owner to reap the benefits. So much for not wanting "white people hand-outs", which is what these benefits are for the business person. They are the same benefits that allow you keep far more of your income than the average person. It's not difficult to understand that those in power possess that power primarily through wealth. Then, you should not be surprised to think that white men with money would want to maintain that advantage to the detriment of those with less, whether they are poor white or black people. Any argument about higher taxes is ridiculous as business people, as I stated above, already have a much lower effective tax rate as a result of "business entitlements". Like all you fringe guys though, you want it both ways. Oh no, that's right, you want the benefits of business, a corporation, protection from practices you consider unfair to "small business" but you don't think that there should be a quid pro quo. Let me help you here, that's a Latin phrase meaning, "this for that", or that you can't something for nothing in this case. Gee, you don't like Monsanto and other mega corporations. It sounds like you want someone to police their activities and protect you from the abuse of large corporations. Wow, now whose job might that be?? No one here has argued against small businesses. Just be prepared to compete against those large corporations at your own peril because there's no one to protect you. The remainder of your post is just more banter without substance But, I think that I have made my point. The problem with you fringe guys is that you have been drinking too much of the koolaid, unfortunately it's the wrong batch (see Jim Jones).
I actually considered that fact. Then, I decided that if he wasn't it would show him how such a black man would be viewed. Otherwise, the rest of the post just shows the idiocy of his position, a win win, yes?
If I support COMMUNITY and I support LOCAL business why would any of you think I'm better than anyone else. I don't like poverty, I don't like seeing other people living in poverty, I don't like misery. I enjoy seeing happy families. I enjoy seeing ALL people of ALL races and cultures Succeeding and doing well in life ! I enjoy learning about NEW cultures !! I enjoy a clean planet that we can all enjoy. I enjoy spending time with the neighborhood kids seeing them grow up in happiness and loving families. When OTHER people of all walks of life do well, that makes me do well ! there is no forgetting about any of my people. It serves no purpose if i do well and someone else who looks like me is suffering. If we both do well we can help each other, which in turn leads to a better community which would be filled with people helping each other, which would lead to everyone being happy and prospering. That's what I want, that's what I value Ron Paul represents that vision for me. If he gets elected and I see his policies and his principles going against what I want for myself and others, then I will BE AGAINST Ron Paul. The point is I'm not happy with the way things are headed ...I don't care for politics...I care about people. Politics needs to give constitutional freedom to everyone so they have the ability to fail or success on their own accord! if we all fail and only a few actually do well that will be a reflection on US as INDIVIDUALS...and I DON'T EXPECT nor Do I want the government to intervene to help people that are unwilling to help themselves.
Only a White American Male yearning for the simple days of the Old West would be down with all this anti-government talk.
