Recently me and my new lady Kathleen were stopped by a local CBS news crew and they interviewed us on the street about interracial dating in America right now. I dont know when it will air but as soon as it does I will try to find a link and post it. Here's some still photos of us:
Can't wait to see it on CBS. By the way, are things okay with you being in public with your GF out there?
they asked us a bunch of questions, i dont remember all of them but i remember a couple, like when they asked do we get any uncomfortable stares anywhere we go and we said only when we go to certain bars that have mainly white people in them, but when we go to the movies or restaurants its very mixed. they also asked if having a black president has made it easier or made it more common to date interracially and Kat said she doesnt think Obama makes people date interracially more but if anything it's made parents and older people more okay with seeing IR relationships for some reason. they also asked about her parents and how they feel about me. Kat said how her mom when first meeting me said she liked my smile and how I seemed very mature. But she also wasnt sure if it was genuine or not because she is allergic to cats and right after we started dating her parents bought two cats and began suggesting she move out on her own (which she is in the process of doing). so who knows lol?:smt120
I didn't call you an idiot............................................in this thread. You live in Mo Co, and you sometimes act as if its a shock that black men date white woman. But where you live its not rare at all....not even a little bit. In fact in Howard Co. Columbia, which is a paper airplane throw from you is like the mecca for interracial couples. Ho Co, Mo Co, NOVA, DC...you are surrounded by racial acceptance, so I always wonder where you come from when you post these quibs of "woe is us/me I'm black" when you simply don't live in a closed culture.
Well, right within my neighborhood (directly), there are episodes of racial intolerance. I don't want to get into it here, because I don't want to derail this guy's thread. I asked the question because I need to learn and these are things that I don't know yet. Also, I live in Howard County. Thanks man. I've felt like I've learned a lot. :smt023
