Because you're so young. It's always funny to hear young people say things with such conviction, because 10yrs down the track (maybe less) they pretty much always do exactly what they said they wouldn't. Hell, I know I did. :smt081
me personally, i don't think i'll marry again...once was enough. saying that though...we all know about a woman's right to change her mind...so i may if i find that wonderful someone and he wanted to get married, so maybe i would get married again lol
Nope, never been married. I got engaged once, but after we became engaged he started treating me like he owned me, so I got rid of his ass. I'd like to be married one of these days, but I have my doubts about it happening. My mama says I'm too picky, but when it comes to marriage I don't think there's any such thing as being too picky. I'd rather die alone than settle for crap.
My preference would be to marry only one time and live happily ever after with the chosen one However if despite an honest effort on both end things went down the hill or I had judged him wrong and I later found out he wasn't all I thought he was I probably would give marriage a 2nd try,but probably not over and over again.
lol Right.... I remember when I was much younger I used to holler some uber gay shit all the time "Sega Genesis is my only girlfriend", "I rather die alone than be with a girl" etc... My Mother has a old recording of that crap somewhere.
Awww. Somehow I thought you had said you were married to your son's dad at one point. I do agree on the not settling for crap. I have watched a few girlfriends settle for guys and wonder how they can think they were a good match. For myself I hope my next is my last and it's forever.
I was married once, a very long time ago, and it was a horrible mistake. I haven't come close since, though I've had several long term things, including one that lasted 8 years. I think it would take a miracle at this point for me to even find a good relationship considering the MS and my age, much less someone I trusted and loved enough to marry. Even if I found a long term relationship, I'm not interested in having kids, so I don't see the reason for marriage. My life is pretty settled - my kid is grown, I have my own house, etc.
Did you read the Elin thread? You ladies make a very compelling argumet as to why marriage doesn't seem to benefit anyone anymore.
I think it shows a lot of your marriage demons/ideas. So it shows why you think it has no value. You only think dollars and cents, though. People are free to live their lives as they wish.
JC are you kidding I am the absolute most naive hopeless romantic on this site but I'm not a dummy. It's hard to not notice all the cheating and unrealistic expectations people have. It wears on you my friend. Who idealistically wouldn't want to find someone they click with and want to build a life with but people seem to have an issue being honest and working through things. Its just plain sad. We live in a world of selfishness and no values it seems.
Oppose to me saying instead that I wanted to get married and have kids some day? So if I said that instead, then it would mean that I would change my mind and decide not to marry and have kids or not having the chance to, huh? That shit bugs me. If a young person says they don't want to get married and/or have kids, the response they would usually get is "Oh, you'll probably change your mind". If a young person says he/she wants to get married and/or have kids some day, then they wouldn't hear that shit. It's absurd.
