drug tests dont mean shit, tbh, especially if participants know the date and time of one. Unless these tests are done to everyone at completely random times, you can't expect to weed out people that do the shit. how stupid do you think they are? mothafuckas will clean up in advance of testing, then hit that shit right after. it's like taking the drug test before working where I am. No one tests positive for that unless they fucking stupid, because you get to dictate the date and time of it. That doesn't mean that they don't do drugs tho. Believe me, we got more than a fair share of druggies.
im just saying off of my experience. If set drug tests were really indicative of narcotics abuse, no one would be working where I am. unless the shit becomes random, i don't see the point. it's a joke.
I understand. But Im sure that if it was random it would be possibly only about 7% and it may not have been worth it. If it was 30-40% done on the random then yeah I get it. Im just tripping on the 2% who knew it was coming and still got busted. they need their asses kicked

There was also a story this week about how the cost of the tests totally outweighed any possible recovery of benefits This shit is purely punitive. Poor people shouldnt have any fun anyway, we all know that - look at the outrage recently about covering contraceptives under insurance.
It didnt. It costs more to administer the program and run the tests than could possibly be recovered. So what's the point? Only two percent turned up positive anyway.

Principle? What Principle would that be Professor? Ignoring the fact that the cost of testing far outweighs the "savings" from kicking people who test positive off of the government dole, are you aware that Governor Scott is heavily invested in a company that's now being paid to do random drug testing for the state? Tell me. Is that principled?
Exactly. And this is one blunder of the Scott administration...pouring a lot of money just so the state could go into further debt. And to say he's all about fiscal responsibility. He knows how to swindle money for himself, but sure as hell can't run government.
I say.. If anybody should be pissing in a cup to get Welfare it should be those Corporate cocksuckers that have looted this country beyond belief. It's easy to fuck with people at the bottom. Those Bailouts hit us for thirteen TRILLION dollars..that's the combined wealth of the entire American middle-class..! Welfare to the poor sure as hell didn't do that. The Bailouts KILLED this country's middle-class..the effects are right around the corner. If you think the infrastructure is bad now...stick around...if you think the roads and bridges are raggedy as hell now....keep living. Don't expect the Nation's already overwhelmed electrical grid to miraculously fix itself as our population continues to spiral out of control...not to mention our embarrassing levies and dams.
You're not kidding there at all. And for the record, the conservative estimate to (re)build infrastructure would be a whopping $1.3 Trillion. Actual estimate based on my own calculations will be roughly $9.1 Trillion if we want to incorporate advanced technology like high speed rails and everything else in the mix.
And where will that money come from? Soon there won't be enough of a middle class to tax...in other words it won't get fixed.
If this trend continues, it'll come from the same sources (taxpayers of middle and low income communities and foreign countries), BUT the project would take much much longer than projected. And you're right...there won't be a middle class anymore, so what does that mean for everyone? We're fucked. And you're more than welcomed to add on whatever you want to say.
