At least I had fun trying right? lol In the meantime, I am still FREE. Freedom and privacy are worth it sometimes...
Life goes on if I don't find, "the one", although it'll be sad if I don't.... I don't think being picky within means is a bad thing. You have to be attracted and interested in the person, so why settle? Just for the sake of having someone? Nah, don't think so!
I was going to say life goes on and then you die but what do i know anyway? I think one of the biggest deterents to me being happy in a relationship is me. So trying to find "the one" without figuring out how to be ok with me in the first place is just some kind of futile exercise in futility. I'll never be happy with "the one", even if he is that person if I'm not happy with me first.
Haling from a solid family with good morals, attending and graduating from university and having the ambition to excel at everything you touch makes you one in a thousands. The problem however, is that your standards will be super high and thus your attraction to the average person (opposite sex) will be very low. Keeping with this mentality, you will waste most of your fun years because nobody will be up to your standards. And within those years "the one" probably could have passed you by. No need to settle because everybody has standards, however being open minded to dating fat guys with low IQ's is good too
I don't believe in 'the one', but we do all have a 'type' that we tolerate a certain degree of variation within that type. For example, I consider myself compatible with different types of women, so long as we can relate, I find her attractive generally, and we share similar core values and beliefs. If you only have ONE person in the entire world you're ideally suited for, that's kinda sad.
I don't think there is one person that I'm meant to be with. I think there are several people out there, and it just comes down to who I meet first. A lasting relationship is built upon two people working together in the relationship, not on some fluffy concept of googly eyed love with violins playing in the background. If I don't meet someone, and I don't get married, I will be fine. I'd rather be in no relationship than compromise the core parts of myself for the sake of saying I'm attached.
This is right on the money. That and steaming hot sex... working together, maturity, loyalty, and the sex keeps you together like glue...
The "one" is a myth, the best you can expect is, if your tab B fits into her slot A, and her bullshit is compatible with your bullshit.
Recent gf. Not saying it will last but never met a person more tailored fitted to me in my life. Physically shes really pretty but not so pretty that Im uncomfortable. Same sense of humor, challenges my way of thinking without being obnoxious, similar family backgrounds, both avid readers but we like different genres. Its by no means perfect but feels like a perfect fit if that makes sense
This might sound crazy but I think it depends on what you see as the meaning of "the one"..... The man I allow to put a ring on my finger will be "the one",,,,,,, I am optimistic I believe it will happen. But this is just my opinion....
i don't think that there's anything wrong with being picky...after 1 failed marriage, i'm certainly not going to "settle" and i'm quite content with my own company and have a large group of friends, so if i don't find "the one", no sweat
