Well, the college professor gig is only part-time (twice/week). You're dead-on about the public schools salary, though! I'm not sure how long I can work 2 jobs, though. It really burns me out!!!
Bless your heart SexyB, You just joined the forum........not even fully in the door with a chance to take off your coat......And they have you discussing and divulging your income......You sound like a go-getter, but be advised, free-loading men pay would handsomely for this appraisal sheet......Don't let'em size you up Lady.............
My bad Jordan .....gender clarification......the advice was for targeting what I thought was a single working woman......Baltimore ,you are on your own......
^^LOL!!! It's all good! You guys are gonna' force me to change my screen name! If I get anymore advice from someone thinkin' i'm a female, it's a wrap!!!.......lol
since we are talk blerds the think about the article show one common factor....you more than likely need a degree of some type
um yeah, in this market with more and more of the competition graduating from college... ur only hurting urself by not putting in the 4-5 years u really cant go wrong with majoring in something that can catapult you into healthcare like nursing, support staff, IT etc. IT is a major part of healthcare nowadays, with just about everything going digital with a need for trained IT guys to implement and maintain all of the applications and infrastructure
yeah the BLS showed that there 3.8 million jobs out there now unchanged from last year and from what i understand most are stem
pretty much i know in the area of where i work, there's plenty of openings in technology-based areas. and they pay very well too. The ones that start you off properly require a degree/experience, or a shitload of experience. If you want to move up, you really need that degree when the ad says 'masters preferred'
whats funny is that they are loving romney for what he stated but will not get that degree and get that position BUT are willing to fund high school football and not education
yep, thats director and above level unless your grandfathered in at a start up and from there your good without one.
Realistically........ before WE can make plans for those BS degrees, MS degrees and new skill cross training, we have to first get past the convictions records, court-mandated supervisions and our need to bring our cultural statements (cornrows, earings, tatoos) into interviews.........these are our nemeses...
Well, I am a nerd. As I type I have 7 laptops on my desk right now, 2 ISP (Verizon and Optimum), about 40 laptops around me, 5 phones and 3 tablets. I wish I could keep them all. Had a 4.0 GPA in college and so many scholarships as well. I dropped out in 2009 and started a business in the tech industry. I have to say I am happy (Thank God). I love technology and wouldn't mind being a borg. I just reminded myself... I have to watch my Star Trek Series.
