    LOL, America never learns man.

Still don't know to this day why the fuck we went into Iraq, besides the obvious oil interests, which the French, Russians, Chinese, etc have all muscled in on as well. Funny how that worked out. SMH.

Iraq was a mistake, a lot of it had to do with the personal vendetta dubya had against Saddam. If Saddam had not tryed to kill his dad we very well may have never invaded Iraq, which is the most educated country in that region. What a trillion dollar mess. smh. BTW we can easily break our independance on oil, but dirty politics will never allow this to happen. The same greedy people in this country that are getting paid off of it will not let this happen anytime soon. A similar scenario with the sugar market. Why are there import quotas on sugar? To keep South American countries from getting rich off of it while the same people in this country get rich off the sugar substitute High Fructose Corn syrup. The quotas keep the world price of sugar low, while it is artificially high in this country, compelling companies to switch to the substitute which fat cats over here get rich off of. This policy actually keeps the South American countries too broke to fight terrorism in their respective countries.

Actually, women, liberals, and also minority groups throughout these regions are challenging the religious extremist in various countries. Which is the fact what most western people don't notice here, for example in Egypt Muhammed Morsi barely won the presidency, nearly half the population voted against him. Hell there was a protest against Hilitary Clinton for supporting the muslim Brotherhood. As far as women, since they were part of the revolution, many are not taking this lying down. In other words, they don't need Western Women to help them out, since they have a active women movement in various areas across the region.

Women in muslim countries are participating in the Arab spring and making their voices hheard. But thats doesnt mean they are anti Islam. Nor does it mean that western women cant embrace islam if they desire to. Its a question of choices.

i find this all interesting tho....timing wise

with Obama pulling troops out of Iraq and looking to scale down our forces in the region in general, what do we do? We end up putting more boots on the ground to beef up the embassies. Now with the french mixing things up with this magazine bullshit, we're going to end up sending more troops back to the region.

    never ending cycle.

I live here in a military community. The word on the street here is that we will have to go back in and clean up the mess the politicians are creating. There is a belief that the military is being overloaded with taskings that will be determental, but the politicians are not listening. I'm hearing that the marines at the embassies are not required to have loaded weapons. If this is true then the rules of engagement need to be challenged.

What the hell will happen when that Bin Laden movie come out. Have anybody picked up on what the rioters in Cairo said "Obama, Obama we are all Osama's". You have to wonder what the reaction will be when that Hollywood movie comes out. President Obama will indeed be vilified by the radical muslims who see Osama has a hero being depicted in a Hollywood movie of being assassinated. On top of that the DNC made a point to highlight "GM came back and Osama is dead". The fire will be stoked again. By the way the movie is produced by a woman which will really make them mad.

No it won't. No one in the west is going to capitulate to them and after 9-11,the hate against them is very deep.

The people who got rid of Ghadaffi did not do it all by themselves it was with the help of NATO and the reaction of that bad is like a slap in the face to the West.

It's time for this country to take the position "screw the muslim world". End the billions of tax payers money that we give these ungrateful bastards. No more spilling the blood of our best and brightest. Develop our own energy resources in the Americas and put the muslim nations on notice that we will no longer be slaves to them. Build up our strategic and tactical anti-ballistic missle systems to counter Iran and any other nation that want to challenge the U.S. We need to concentrate on building this country and no longer the muslim world's infrastructure. Hell, let the Saudis and other super rich muslim nations help their fellow muslims. Let them kill each other as they are doing in Syria and we need to stay out. We should have learned from history on the Iran and Iraq war that the U.S. stuck it's nose in. If they hate us for being in their countries, then fine let them care for themselves, let them starve. If this makes me an isolationist, then fine. I wish we had a national leader and party with some balls to tell the rest of the world "FUCK YOU ALL, WE ARE GOING TO LOOK AFTER OURSELVES THIS TIME".

If the U.S. abandons the ME, you will see the rise of radical Islam as Taliban inspired governments take over the ME one by one.

If we withdraw foreign aid, Saudi Arabia and their Wahhabi extremist Sunni Islam, Iraq and China will all become the primary benefactors in the ME.

The Royal family in Saudi Arabia would be overthrown in less than 3 years and you would have an Ayatollah type despot controlling the most important oil producing country in the world.

The biggest deterrent against a radical Islamic ME country developing a nuclear bomb is by having a U.S. presence in the region whether we like it or not.

We can pretend to ignore the ME, but that doesn't mean all that craziness is going away because we aren't there anymore.

We should not depend on their oil, but as long as they live on earth we can't just pretend that they do not exist. This world is far too dangerous to do that. The fact that we live on the same planet restricts us from saying screw anyone. We can say screw a regime, but not a entire country or region. "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" Dude I thought everyone seen the Godfather. lol We are not slaves to the muslim nations, what we are doing is trying to survive, however we are making costly mistakes in the process.
