Romney has repeatedly said war is the last option. He thinks China can be a partner with us, but wants to label them as a currency manipulator because they are artificially lowering the prices of their goods. This is hurting our manufacturers here in the US.

He doesn't want to start a war with Iran. He wants to uphold the alliance we have with Israel in helping them defend themselves. Instead, Obama is traveling around the World apologizing to every country for America's arrogance. That's the kind of leadership I want (sarcasm)

The reason Romney calls it an apology tour is because he went to the Middle East, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iraq. Obama did indeed mention past U.S. flaws in speeches. In one speech he says "there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive." In another speech he says "a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect." So even though he never used the word "apology", many people believe he has gone around the world apologizing for America's behavior. Even if he disagreed with Bush's policies I don't think the incoming President should bash the previous one.

 

The Obama quotes are accurate, I for one truly don't see any issue with them, no country has been perfect in their foreign policy, the US certainly is not immune to past missteps, he was simply acknowledging that fact and seeking a new beginning. I don't think he was only talking about Bush, but America's past as a whole when dealing with Muslims around the world which has certainly had its troubled chapters. I see strength in acknowledging past wrongs and extending a hand to move forward to a better future, not weakness or an "apology".

 

The quotes are not inaccurate, those are exact excerpts from his speeches. Every country has its past missteps, but his statements were apologizing to the world community. It was done to make him look good as a "man of diplomacy" and not in the interest of the United States. Apparently it worked because he got a Nobel Peace Prize. lol

His running mate Paul Ryan, during the VP debate with Biden, said there would be no hard deadline for pulling out of Afghanistan. Romney then flip flops and during the 3rd presidential debate, says he agrees with a 2014 withdrawal. Romney also said our greatest enemy as a nation was Russia during the summer, then flip flops and agrees with Obama in the third debate. Romney had a trash approval rating when he left the governors office in Massachusetts, he wont carry his home state of Michigan or Massachusetts. He will not denounce his legitimate rape republican friends. He has shifted positions so often he reminds me of Derrick Rose driving to the rim. He is a total chicken shit. The guy can go back to his Mormon planet of Kolob with his space Jesus and leave us reasonable Americans be. And he can take Sarah "shuck and jive" Palin with him.

 

And that's the problem with your entire party. Only a weak man fears being wrong and having to admit it. Diplomacy is considered political capital, it helps to avoid military conflict. I guess you'd prefer us having more military basis and more guns pointed at everyone like a paranoid crack addict?
Why can't we take the steps to move forward instead of being involved in never ending bloodshed. Turn on BBC world news or Telemundo and look at all those piled up bodies of CIVILIANS in dump trucks and tell me you don't think its better to be diplomatic?

No, the fact is Obama believes diplomacy can be done throughout the world. But the reality is that most countries in the middle east are not lead by diplomatic leaders. So right now they are smiling in our face while building nuclear missiles and making more terrorist plots. The same thing happened during Clinton's years and as soon as he left we had 9/11.

The world will never be a place where everyone can get along and we'll have world peace. I would rather be a paranoid crack addict than an airhead Miss America candidate saying she wants "world peace".

Since you do watch TV and see all those dead bodies piled up, how do you not feel for those people? Obama is sitting by letting Syrians get slaughtered. I guess we don't care about human rights in the world anymore. He wants to tell Assad to "be nice" and thinks that will change things. Instead he wakes up every morning and kills more people. Al Qaeda is still active and Iran is getting stronger in terms of weapons. It's going to be really unfortunate when the next 9/11 happens because these countries have had 8 years of President Barack Obama.

I'm against the United States interventionism policies concerning the middle east. The west placed have of those tyrants into power in the first place. This is all about energy and natural resource. How did the Cold War end?? With bombs?? No. It was with arms reduction treaties, liberating the Soviet satellite states and outspending on defense the ability of the Russian economy to keep pace, leading to its collapse.
We bankrupted the Soviet Union out of existence. No bullets. No body bags.

We didn't launch ONE missile at the Russians, and neither did they at us, and they were 1000x the nuclear threat Iran/Pakistan are.

When you look at the ME and say it's fucked up, understand that at one point this country,(and in most cases still does) SUPPORTED dictators in Iran/Iraq/Saudi Arabia/Egypt/Lebanon/UAE/Jordan.
