easily, travel, read, do research on interracial issues, on diversity, tolerance and levels of racial incidences against IR couples, comfortability factors from IR couples who answer questionaires, census records, articles in newspapers and magazines.
Some of the worst: Boston, MA Savannah, GA Palm Springs, CA Brooklyn, NY Orlando, FL States like Alabama, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kansas, New Mexico, Arkansas, North Dakota, and pretty much anywhere in the deep south.
for the research on best places for interracial couples and families go to: www.diversitydtg.com look on articles and interracial families the top 5 1 montclair nj 2 san san jose 3 denver co 4 san diego 5 Washington dc 6 Seattle 7 Minneapolis 8 Madison WS 9 Oakland Ca 10 Columbus OH
You guys are forgetting the beautiful city of MIAMI. Believe me y'all, you'd see just about any kind of existent IR dating here. But anyways, the top 5 for IR dating in my opinion would be: Washington DC New York City Los Angeles Miami Minneapolis
sardonic--have you been to Vermont??? if you have then you would know it is one of the best places for IR couples the point of the question is where is it most comfortable for IR couples and Vermont is a winter and summer play ground for tolerant minded people and especially IRs. As is Marthas Vineyard, Nantucket, Bar Harbor, North Central Calif, Colorado, and the upper midwest
Vermont has IR couples??? Maybe I should've said Maine, since the Northeast is so upper-class white bred, and proud of it.
I heard Denver was one of the best cities in America, and I've been to Savannah, GA, Cincinnati, OH, Orlando, FL, Washington, DC, all around Virginia State, and other parts of the Northeast like Silver Spring and Kensington, so I know where not to go.
what do you mean by white bread upper class? there are many working class people in New England--from Bridgeport and Hartford CT, to Providence RI, to Lowell, to Manchester NH and yes even Maine. of course there are IR couples in Vermont, and it is very comfortable there for IRs. If you havent been there how can you comment on the IR situation there or even Maine--where in Maine have you been that it isnt comfortable to IR couples, since I have been all over the state and only the working class towns are even close to being uncomfortable and yet they really arent. the only place in New England that is really uncomfortable for IRs and minorities in South Boston among the poorest of Irish people--the wealthy New Englanders are very nice and accepting
In general, i'd have to say the East and Midwest are the most accepting when it comes to IR dating. In places like Chicago, New York, Philly and New England, its not such a big deal when a bm/ww walk down the road holding hands. On the other hand, the South are the least accepting. I've been giving the bad eye many times when i used to live in Los Angeles. Mostly by black women and white men as we can well imagine. Many times i've had to encounter getting a billion looks by some obnoxious onlookers who find it rather disgusting to see a bm with a ww/lw. Odd isnt it???? I'd say if you wanna enjoy a great ir relationship, the East and Midwest is the place for you. The West Coast, some parts? The South, not in my wildest dreams (with the exception of MIAMI  )
That's what I mean. It's a more upper class society than other white-populated areas like trailer parks or apartment complexes in other states. The biggest cities in America seem to be the safest for IR dating. So, it has something to do with economics?
actually they are not always the safest--boston is still considered the most racist city in america and its not all that comfortable for an IR couple--meanwhile, Bar Harbor Maine; Burlington Vermont, Albany New York; Northhampton Mass are so much more comfortable and openly welcoming to IR couples--esp bm/ww--they even produced a book(OF Many Colors) to promote IR relationships
Well, I would say most of them are because the biggest cities in America have more minorities than whites in them, but I see your point. Boston has a reputation for being racist.
To answer the most IR friendly city question...I would without a doubt say Washington DC and parts of it's metro area. I can walk down the street with my boyfriend without a care in the world. I think we had maybe one problem when an elderly woman on the metro glared at us, but other then that, no bad experiences here. We are a very culture accepting area. When I go out to clubs there are people of all races dancing together. BM/WW, BW/WM...it's a beautiful thing to live life without worrying about someones color. BTW when someone asks me to describe my boyfriend...I don't say that he is black. Not because I am ashamed, because Lord knows I love me some brothas. I don't say it because it doesn't even register to me, he's just my boyfriend.
From what I've heard they are Minneapolis, Portland (Oregon), Richmond, Champaign (Illinois), Atlanta, San Francisco, Phoenix and Denver.
