Very informative clip. The average worker having to work a month to make what a CEO makes in an hour...very telling of where our society places its value. I was a bit surprised to hear that the top 1% own 50% of the stocks/bonds, while the bottom 50% own only 0.5%. I never would've guessed the numbers were THAT skewed. While it may be reality, it's disheartening to hear. The majority of our work force are working harder, for less...so I guess it makes sense that many people simply don't have "extra" to invest. Yet...we're expected to "plan ahead" because lord knows SS won't be available when im ready to retire. It's frustrating to think about sometimes.

Good video though, thanks for posting it.

Sad. If everything was equal, there would be no one in charge. That is the rationale of employers from Corporate America. Someone has to be in charge.

Inequality will always exist. It has been in the past, it is now the present and will be into the future. The trick is not fall into the trap in believing that you cannot get yours too. No limitations should ever hold you back from being successful. Most imortant do not let "others" convince you that you cannot succeed.

All of those CEO's,CFO's etc getting higher paychecks while the low ranking folk get shafted big time. Seems the conservatives go quiet when the fat cats get raises they don't deserve like when the company tanks etc.

Inequality is something I just thought about yesterday.
I have a friend who graduated from the same school as me.
He was lucky his grandma had connections and he could get a job at a bank.
Now he is making twice or three times my salary (I really dont wanna know).
While I'm working shifts, he got the weekends and holidays off of course.
He is driving a big car, eating out 3-4 times a week, wearing tailored suits....

What pisses me off, is that he knows that I have a shitty job, yet he is texting me to ask what I'm doing (working) just to tell me where he is (expensive restaurant or at the movies).

It's like he needs that to boost his ego.
Maybe he only enjoys what he got when he can make other people jealous?
    It's annoying as hell :(

OK either this guy isn't really your friend and you meant acquaintance or your just super jealous of your friends preconceived success.

Yes, I'm jealous. Of course you wouldn't be if you were in my shoes.
At least I don't have to worry about my shitty job no more.
Got told today that my department will be closed down by the end of the month.....

Thank you for caring. I have been working there for 8 years and I think I'm entitled to severance pay if they will fully terminate me.

I'm trying to see it as a chance for change because I was really not happy with the job anyway.
Payment sucked and customer service can be really stressful at times.

Let's see if they will offer me another position or pay me to go.
Job market in Berlin sucks these days, but something will come up for me, I just know that.
In the meantime I will get unemployment money for a year.

Not in Berlin and especially not in tourism.
One of the biggest airlines (Air Berlin) will get rid of 900 people in the next two years. That was one of the companies I always wanted to work for.
Looks like my job choice really wasn't a good decision.
My Dad used to work for Siemens and I could have gotten an apprenticeship there.
I already passed all their tests and the assesment center but my stupid ass wanted to work in toursim *smdh*

I hope I'm not just fooling myself. You know sometimes the truth gotta settle and it kicks in later.
But all in all the payment was so shitty that it can't get much worse.
I will have to get my ass of the couch and actively search for something better, probably in another field that is paying more.
