Seems this question comes up in one form or fashion.

I went to DC last weekend to see some friends of mine...HS/College buddies I haven't probably seen in 7-8 years. Crazy.

Anywho, my friend's gf has never met me. She complimented me on how I was dressed...purple gingham button up, desert boots, gray slacks.

So I guess she was trying to get to know me and the question popped up "Do you like black girls or white girls?" I said I tend to go after white, but w/e.

Her: "I figured a preppy black guy like yourself would be into white girls"

LOL not sure her motive, but I've had to answer this a few times. All in all, it was cool.

I get that question from time to time. If you don't carry yourself like a drug dealer and talk like you have a 2nd grade education, some people automatically think you only mess with white women.

I guess that has some truth to it, I gravitate more towards white chicks but that's just my preference. Tell the black chicks to stop pushing us aside for thugs and maybe more "preppy" black dudes would get with them.

 

Doesn't seem to be any motive...Just a typical "getting to know you" type question. Although I have to admit, it is an ego boost for a white girl to know that a good looking, well dressed black man is into white women.

 

Both...as is evident by my kids. I got one of each on the roster.

Personally, that's not a question I ask guys. If we're chatting, and we're vibing, I've got my answer. Plus, I've known a few guys who swore they'd never date a white chick...and I've turned them around. IMO, anything's possible if you approach it with confidence.

 

What's funny is they don't like each other, but my white bm has a black best friend, and my black bm has a white best friend. :smt017

 

I think she wanted to get to know you. I had been asked that question a couple of times by black guys and black girls when I was younger. I sometimes replied, "I like Asian women," or "I like white women or Latinas."
Some black girls listen to the way I speak. To them, an articulate black man is interested in white women. My mother was a very articulate woman. She was an Englidh major and she wanted to teach. But nursing became her calling. She made sure we all used proper grammar.

It wasn't a terrible assumption...I mean..it's not like she was with her preconceived notion of me. I just think it's funny hearing this question several times from people since it seems I'm one of the few clean cut black males on this planet lol.

 

A randy old brother once said a phrase that will always stick with me when he was asked what kind of women he liked: "I'm a leg man. I like legs." "What kind of legs?" His response: "The kind with feet on one end and pussy on the other." ROFLMAO. That's how I feel when they ask me that question.
