Rural doesn't bother me if it's tropical rainforest, but the US countryside isn't my cup of tea. Although I love the Amish preserves and jellies, lol.
I could too but prefer to adapt to the beach or city, just not enough going on in the country for me to want to adapt too.
Ideally city penthouse, beach condo and a country compound would suit me best. Having all three I'd be able to enjoy everything.
When I lived in a small town in North Florida, just about everything was closed at 6:00 pm. After that, you had to find your own action. Restaurants were the only action in town. Or going to an underground club on the north side of town where crack was sold was another activity. Or a country western club(there were about two in the town I lived in). Or the movies or meeting friends at church or Wal-Mart. If you wanted to do anything exciting, you went out of town(the action was 40 miles away, but well worth the trip).
Atlantic. About 40 miles west of Jacksonville. I lived in two towns. They were Live Oak and Lake City. Things have changed in both towns, now. More restaurants, motels and retail stores have sprung up.
Wow. I know nothing about the state north of Orlando or anywhere on the coast other than the Tampa/St. Pete to Miami corridor along I-75.
I used to go to Gainesville. It's a happening place with the University of Florida being central to the city. Lots of things to do and see there. Culturally open.
I've been to St. Petersburg once. Compared to all of South Florida, the difference is like night and day. People in the Tampa/St. Pete are are doing worthwhile things like picnic in the park, boating, fishing, taking it easy. South Florida, the same but the people in Tampa/St. Pete area are a lot friendlier than folks in South Florida.
That I agree with. Down here it's a little heavy on the 24/7 party people for my taste. Maybe when I was 22, but I'm too old for that now. After I take the bar I'm going to move to Ft. Myers/Naples to slow things down a bit.
Like I said, people do more worthwhile things there and are friendly. I used to chat with a lot of women(who happen to be white) from the Tampa/St. Pete area when I was on AOL. There are more available women there than in Miami(I may be wrong but it seems that way). I hope you ace the Bar.
