I ask only because most discussions you read about the challenges black people face inevitably gravitate to and center on things like "sagging" and "ebonics". It makes you think that most black people (and whites for that matter) are of the mind that until all blacks conform to socially acceptable ways of dressing and speak "proper" we shouldn't expect that others treat us with dignity. If that's what people believe, I'd like to hear it said plainly. Are there people here who believe that?
My mother believed it and she taught us how important it is to look good speak well. It was not for the outside world, it was for us, as well. My father, being from the streets, then the Army and later the New Jersey State Police, he drummed that into our heads, also. My point is that this all begins at home with family.
So gorath, presumably you look good and speak well. Why are you walking around fearing violence? Does the way others "sag" and use "ebonics" justify animosity toward you?
Everyone has a fear of violence. It's all around us. It adds a lot of stress to a person. Do you fear violence, or that you might become violent? As to sagging pants and ebonics, no notions of violence come to me if I am in the presence of one who wears sagging pants or speaks ebonics. They don't talk to me unless they're looking at me. That is their chosen language and dress.

You hit the nail on the head about immigrants hating their way into the hearts of white america. It works. Just look at all the racist ass-kissers pouring in from the southern border. Black (mis)leaders have stood aside or actively aided, this illegal invasion by allowing the 14th ammendment to be hijacked by any tom dick and julio with a fake SS# and a one way ticket from shitsville.. The supreme court already ruled in the slaughterhouse case that the 14th ammendment is EXCLUSIVELY for the offspring of freed african slaves. It's one thing for white america to ignore this...but for Black "leaders"...it's unforgivable.If mexico were a white country those negroes would be screaming from the rooftops.
