I don't know how you can put genius and music together. It is just music. That being said I agree with tdk about how good his music is. Kanye's music is one of the last shred of good music in an era of miley cyrus and bebier. He is arrogant though. No one questions about that.

Interesting you mention Hendrix, when I was younger I could not stand his music (my college roomate was a huge Hendrix fan) and did not understand the fuss. Over the last few years I find myself actually enjoying some of his music.

There is finding a cure to a disease(small pox) to save all of humanity and then there is music.

great artist but I don't see genius in musicians no matter how much i like their music.

I didn't understand what people saw in him until I heard it. He made me fall in love with the electric guitar all over again. The only thing I disliked was the national anthem. Somethings don't need items added on.

Like Jeremy Shockey, or Brock Lesnar (already mentioned in this thread), John McEnroe, George Brett, Bill Lambeir, ect., ect. who all got called out by the media and faced harsh criticism for boorish, unsportsmanlike behavior?

football is an emotional game. you can't interview a guy right after a game and not expect emotion.

oh please where did they get labelled thugs? and maybe they got it because they deserved it? brett, lambeer attacked ppl. jeremy shockey, lesnar and mcenroe had multiple incidents and reputations. and in the case of mcenroe and lesnar they built careers off their loudmouths and were celebrated. and outside of brock none of those names played collision sports like sherman.

Football is a competitive sport, shit talking comes with the territory. I always talked shit when playing against anyone in anything competitive, that includes card games and video games. It is just part of the fun. How can you like the sport yet want to censor the intensity. And ooh yeah please. With the type of crap thats on TV now a days its ok to let this man enjoy his moment without all the "holier than thou bullshit".

I don't think any one is agreeing on the racial insults or even the hidden racial insults. People are agreeing on the legitimate comments about his arrogance.

Brock lesnar was in UFC for less than a year before getting his championship and making a beer and wife comment. That is not enough time to have a reputation that brought so much dislike from the crowd on his arrogance. His incidents started to happen after the championship.

The only thing I can see is the wwe where he had to hold a fake character.

Basketball is very much a collision sport, clearly you have never taken a charge or been blindsided by a screen. Shockey played in the NFL as well as Sherman. here is an article that references him as a "thug" http://deadspin.com/5835815/jeremy-shockey-saves-choking-teammate

Lambeer's nicknames when he played, "The Prince of Darkness," "Street Thug," "Ax Murderer" and "His Heinous" for his dirty defense.

Lesnar's behavior has been criticized to the point that MMA officials had to step in and tell him to knock it off because it was hurting the image of MMA.

McEnroe was called plenty of bad names by the media including "super brat", hardly flattering.

We all know there is a racial component to the Sherman story and that the media is quicker to label Black athletes as thugs because that is what a significant percentage of Americans think when they see a Black man, no matter how accomplished/successful he is. That being said, there are plenty of examples of athletes of all ethnicities being called out for their behavior.
