I love keeping up to date with my friends via facebook. I'm not one for talking on the phone and I'm terrible at keeping in touch, so facebook really works for me. There are a few people who regularly post things that make me roll my eyes, but big deal, it's their facebook, they can post what they like! I can just keep scrolling. I especially love when anyone posts anything about travel - can't get enough. Facebook FTW!
Wow. I make a small statement and you think you've figured everything out about the situation? Sorry I'm not sharing the entire situation with the forum, but go on believing what you're going to believe, as I can't change your mind, and I'll go on knowing the entire truth of the situation. We can agree to disagree as you are speaking from a position of not knowing anything about it.
The current Myspace is no longer the site I've known since they had erased everything from my correspondence etc. It sucks to the max.
The friendlist on FB of the WW/BM are not the same like the friendlist on the WW/BM website on my end.
I don't do FaceBook or Twitter. I used to be on AOL until '04. Then, nothing. I think people like sharing their lives online because they want to connect with the world, despite the potential dangers. People were discovered online like Justin Bieber, Cindy Margolis and others. My sister found a friend of hers through FaceBook. They talked together and caught up. My niece had signed me up for FaceBook, but I hardly use it. I get an email stating that 27 people were searching for me or a number were sending friend requests. I might go in one day to find out what all the fuss is all about.
Still don't understand the point of Twitter. Facebook for me is primarily a way to show pics of my son to all my friends in the far-flung corners of the globe without having to send a thousand e-mails to everyone. Other than pics of my son to friends and family I mostly post news items.
I forgot I also love Facebook for Texas Hold em and Fresh Deck! in fact sometimes I find it hard to focus on my work as it calls to me. Ps sorry to all those I've accidently sent requests to, I do usually click no requests sent, but it was doing it automatic
I used to be a contributor to a relationship advice forum (with a pretty decent rating, I might add). It was like a dear abby for relationships. I found the site seeking advice from others for my own relationship. For me, bouncing my life off random people on the internet helps me to understand myself better, because it allows me to be honest anonymously and get a large quantity of feedback in a short period of time (whereas in real life, yes you have the people you trust the most to go to, but those are few, and though valuable, it's a different perspective). We can only know ourselves if we have others to hold up a mirror to us. I don't know if this makes any sense, but I find this kind of sharing extremely valuable in this way for me. This is one reason I don't reveal my real name, face photo or anything extremely identifying on this forum, because I want the opportunity to be as honest as possible.
LOLOLOLOL! I don't do facebook. I did for a little while. I found it valuable in two ways, while I had it. 1) I found out that various members of my family, despite now having 24 hour easy access to me on a convenient facebook platform, still somehow found it extremely difficult to remain in regular touch, or any touch at all. It confirmed to me once and for all just how much family means to them. 2) I found my long distance vegan buddy on facebook, she helped me to become and stay vegan during a difficult period of my life. The vegan network on facebook is very motivational for those who wish to have the moral support to stick to it. It is one of the positive and good sub-networks of facebook, that I have found there.
What's the vegan network called? I'm a cheese away from finally becoming vegan and struggle to kick the habit
Lol, there's no name for it. You just friend a vegan with a lot of friends and go from there. I would venture to say there are few degrees of separation among many of the vegans on facebook. Search "vegan".
