Actually, there are many similar stories like that. Although I would say that is a entirely different issue completely. Those, I wager are not racially motivated, but rather police brutality and over use of 'authority'. Although I understand what eurochick is trying to convey, is not the same and belongs in a thread dedicated to police brutality and not racially motivated police crime threads such as this. This was clearly racially motivated and although I do not subscribe to ' only whites can be racist' I don't think that 'black-cop-white-victim-unjust-shot' is racially motivated at all, but rather simply just excessive cop force. Nothing to do with race.
I draw a distinct line between 'institutionalized racism' and 'racism'. Two different things. A racist opinion is a racist opinion, no matter who has it. Having been born and raised in Poland, we don't go around blaming the Germans or the Russians for all of our problems today. But then again, I'm sure that what happened to us pales in comparison to all others' story. I mean, it's not like I was born in a post-world war, actively communist country with rationed everything, the Chernobyl radioactive cloud (another awesome gift from the USSR), and all the other great stuff. Dude, I am the prone to get on TDK, but this is not the right way to go about it. I'm Swedish and I remember all to well us not being able to fish or hunt for more than a decade because of that cloud. What did that have to do with the racism here?

Poland is run by the polish. Not the Germans and not the Russians. Poland would be blaming either or if they were running it. Most of the Polish leaders have the same racial and/or ethnic origins as their citizens. You can't say the same about the city of Ferguson. I don't think it is that hard to understand that people will treat people differently based on racial identity. That's the feeling I got from Ferguson residents. I've also seen some of them comment on this on a pbs special. I believe that most black people are fine with any one running as long as they are treating people equally(Bill Clinton is loved by most black people. ). However, this is not the case with the Ferguson government and police. It certainly hasn't been the case in NYC. (Though the mayor of NYC is running his tail off trying to fix the NYCPD.) Poland is very much different than Ferguson in racial Demographics. That's not the problem though. It is the treatment of the police department towards people who do not look like them. This comment is just to point out the context of Ferguson and comparing it to Poland is for this post. I realize that the police may treat other people poorly even if they look like them.
See my point? We are often told to just get over it. And what does Poland have to do with American oppression but since you need me to address your statement I will. As Arch pointed out, your people aren't forced to live with the descendants of those responsible for the atrocities done to them and on top of that the state isn't reinforcing disproportionate treatment
