As someone who drank often and too much in high school and college...I decided that I was missing more than I was gaining...I still drink socially but know my limits...I prefer A man that doesn't drink at all or just socially...not an everyday or all day need...moderation is a beautiful thing... To the OP...her loss!
I don't drink. I don't smoke (cigs or marijuana). So, call me boring, if you will. But, common sense would tell you that there other avenues to release stress and feeling relaxed without wasting precious money, or brain cells on something meaningless. But hey, if you drink...you better damn well exercise moderation or drink only in the moments.
I was planning on cutting back on drinking to almost never when I left Hawaii, but then I saw how fun downtown and PB were. I don't go as hard as I did back in Hawaii though. I'll only drink once a week so I don't get out of shape and gain weight n' shit.
IMO, the fact that someone doesn't drink doesn't mean they can't hang or that this person can't be good or fun company. Just like someone drinking doesn't make them fun to be around. When I drink, I hate being around jerks, drama queens, or "Debbie Downers," whether they're sober or tipsy. Unless she is very young and still a little immature, the girl you're talking about might be ratchet or a total mess when she gets "shit faced wasted," so you could be dodging a bullet with that one to begin with.
It makes me wonder why the fact you don't drink was even mentioned, she may have said she wanted to party and go to festivals and what not, but did this girl actually ask if you drank or not? (Not that he will answer, OP seems long gone) I betting she probably didn't instigate the no drinking convo, more than likely you brought it up when she mentioned her exploits (ie passively forcing your sobriety onto her) which is pretty wooden imo. I'm not a regular drinker, once a month if that! but when I do drink, I wouldn't like to be stood with someone who's raising an eyebrow when I bring the glass to my lips. Most fully functioning non drinkers I've known(couple of them ex boyfriends) didn't even mention it until we went to a bar and ordered, it really isn't a big deal.
Personally I do drink on occasion. I don't think negatively about a man who doesn't drink and would respect his choice. In turn I'd also like for him to accept that I do drink a glass or 2 once in a while. Nowhere near getting shit-faced level.
Well i dont drink and i cant date a lady who drinks.nothing attractive in a chronic female drinker and besides too much alcohol consumption can damage your liver and causes excess abdominal weight gain:smt067
