Guys, my little brother (he's 15) is extremely ill right now. They believe he has pneumonia, and on top of that they're afraid he also has H1N1. I'm really worried. If you pray, can you pray for him, please?
I'll put out my love & best wishes to your brother, yourself & your family DH...I'm sure he'll be just fine...!!! :smt056
We've had our differences but I just asked Him to spare him. H1N1 is actually not majority-lethal, DH, I just checked online for you, out of over 726 hospitalised cases in Texas, the mortality rate was 134 - your brother has a fighting chance. Be strong in front of him - he will not want to see you upset. Let us know how his recovery progresses.
Thanks guys. I know that for the most part Outside of the original cases in mexico it hasn't been overly lethal, but I lost a friend a few months ago to the virus and from what my mom has told me my baby brother is following the same pattern. He's been running a fever of about 103F and has double pneumonia. The risk lies in if he has both that and the virus at the same time. I hope I am just worrying for nothing, but after Beth died this virus has been more than a little scary to me. And it kills me that he's 1600 miles away so if something bad does happen I can't even get to him. Virus be damned I just wanna give him a hug right now. On the upside, I just spoke with him and he says he's feeling a little better so hopefully he's improving. It just reminds me of beth, cause her fever started to break and then she was dead within a day. She was the same age as me.
DH darling, your brother and your entire family are in my prayers.... I hope that he continues to improve and he's out of the woods soon enough. Hang in there. And please keep us posted. :smt056
I just spoke with mom, and she said the doctor called and told her the blood test results just a little while ago. I think, from what she's said, that (hopefully) they've ruled out H1N1, though she was a bit confusing about it all. They're now saying he has the pneumonia and mononucleosis. If that's all it is he's going to be very, very sick for a while, but he should be fine in the end so long as he takes it easy until he's better. From what mom told me he's going to have to sit out of football this year, though, and that's not going to go over well with him, but I'd much rather he not play football than be on his deathbed. He's still not out of the woods yet, though, because the pneumonia is really bad (and I'm just now researching the mono to see if I can figure out if the two will pose a great threat combined), and I haven't heard of people with both diseases at once so I don't know how it would work, but I think this means he'll be ok. Thank you all so much. That kid needs to stop scaring me like this. I guess I sorta feel like half his mom, since I helped raise him. So I fret just as bad as my mom does over him. He's a strong boy, though, and physically he should be in great condition (playing football and all), so he better get to kicking the germs' asses soon.
I wish. I haven't been able to get hold of my mom since her birthday on Friday. I hope that just means he's still improving cause she hasn't called to say he's worse. The situation back home is extremely complicated and sometimes it's really hard for me to in contact with my mom. everything better be ok, though, because I don't have the money to be flying home to whoop somebodys ass.
