You do realize if the GOP keeps having congressmen retire before midterm elections, it's going to all but guarantee a Blue wave in November and impeachment proceedings against Trump in 2019?

If you want to Trump to remain as POTUS, Republicans retiring before their terms are over is not a good thing.

This isn't a court of law. The circumstantial evidence against Trump, his top aides and conspiring with Russians to win a presidential election is going to be damning.

For instance, Cambridge Analytica is guilty of mining the personal data of FB users to micro-target millions of voters with fake news posts against HRC.
Steve Bannon is a former founder of Cambridge Analytica, the company many believe supplied Russian bot farms with the FB user data to micro-target voters.
Jared Kushner is the one who hired Cambridge Analytica to assist the Trump election team.

And I believe there's a report that Trump's personal attorney, had a room he worked out of at a NY hotel which was the same location as the NY headquarters of Cambridge Analytica.

Forget violating campaign finance laws to pay off the dozens of women, according to Steve Bannon, Trump paid off before the election.
Forget about alleged money laundering for Russian oligarchs.

The Trump collusion scandal will focus on the Trump campaign hiring a firm to secretly mine FB user data and then giving that data to Russian coders to flood social media with negative propaganda against HRC.

Also, if Mueller can show the Trump campaign had prior info the Russians hacked the DNC and were going to post that stolen data on Wikileaks, impeaching Trump will be a cake walk.

I've personally heard audio of a high rwnking female FB employee brag about the info provided of users to Obama. If l can find it l will post it.

I hear what you are saying Boba, but impeaching "and actually removing" a president is NEVER a cake walk no matter how damning the evidence. Bill Clinton lied under oath when questioned by a special prosecutor, then later admitted he lied when giving his testimony. That is textbook, to the letter, obstruction of justice, and while he was in fact impeached by the House he still won the trial in the Senate. The house would need to have a simple majority of republicans vote to impeach and the Senate would have to have 2/3rds vote to remove him. Those are VERY high bars to clear.

But in Obama’s case, direct users knew they were handing over their data to a political campaign. In the Cambridge Analytica case, users only knew were taking a personality quiz for academic purposes.

The Obama campaign used the data to have their supporters contact their most persuadable friends. Cambridge Analytica targeted users, friends and lookalikes directly with digital ads.

Whereas the data gathering and the uses were very different, the data each campaign gained access to was similar.

 

One difference between Clinton's impeachment and Trump's potential impeachment by both Houses is that Clinton was still very popular among elected Democrats and voters.
Trump has diminishing support from his own base voters and allegedly most Republicans on Capitol Hill hate Donald.

Trump's nickname among he GOP is 'Stupid Forrest Gump'.

I think many Republicans would consider it was a net gain for Trump to be impeached and no longer leading their party.

 

Good points all, as with everything it will come down to whether the Repubs in congress believe their base will like or dislike them voting to impeach and remove Trump. If it ever comes to that, there will be so many side deals and hidden agendas...it will be a mess.

Yep. President Pence is much more preferable to the GOP than Trump. If nothing else, Pence won't get on Twitter and shoot himself (and his party) in the foot every day. Imagine how much more damage the GOP could do with a President who actually took the job seriously, and didn't treat it like another season of his reality show?

We know that conservative hedge fund manager and major GOP donor Paul Singer was a primary benefactor to The Washington Free Beacon.

The Clinton campaign came in after the fact and funded Steele's research. So far, nearly everything Steele published in 17 memos has been proven to be true. Even Comey cites Trump asking him to investigate the Steele memo and 'prove' the pee pee part of the dossier wasn't true.

Now there are reports Mueller has evidence that Trump lawyer Michael Cohen made a trip to Prague in 2016 to meet with Russian operatives, once again confirming what was previously reported in the Steele dossier.

Stop pretending Trump is some kind of victim. He's gamed the system his entire life, starting all the way back when he dodged the Vietnam War.

Trump thought he could cheat his way to the WH and it looks like he got caught trying to break our democracy.

If it's true that Cohen recorded his conversations with Trump, it could be the beginning of the end fo the Trump administration.

Do I believe Trump has political enemies on principle?? Of course.
But as is the case with former presidents, you can't smear them if there's no dirt to be found.

There's simply no rational explanation why so many of Trump's top campaign and administration officials had secret meetings with Russians who had direct contacts with Moscow and the FSB.

That literally has never happened before in modern American politics.

Trump and the GOP are actively trying to break the federal government. Who has Trump actually nominated for a position who was qualified to do their job??

Trump selected his WH doctor Ronny Jackson to run the VA, even though Dr. Jackson has NO PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE running such a massive agency.

Don tapped Betsy Devos to run the Dept. of Education, although she is personally opposed to the public education system and is a big supporter of charter schools, basically a money grab to privatize public education.

Trump picked Scott Pruitt to head the EPA, even though Pruitt believes we shouldn't even have an EPA and has never met an environmental regulation he didn't want eliminated.

There are multiple examples of Trump either appointing or selecting unqualified, philosophically opposed candidates to run federal agencies, not to reform them, but rather to guarantee they remain impotent or become advocates for big business.

That's not reform. It's self-destruction.

As for Trump and the GOP's beef with the FBI and DOJ, you don't attack the ENTIRE agencies as corrupt, or smear them with the false label of the 'deep state'.

You isolate specific individuals for critique. You don't destroy public trust in the FBi/ Justice Department because you don't want them to investigate your WH, so if they do find something you hope you've done enough to discredit them in the eyes of the American public.
