Oh don't remind me lol but at least David and Kristen kissed. So it was like Cloak & Dagger? Lol
I get that and that makes sense but I like payoff and my thing is they didn't have to go there if they weren't really gonna go there.I'm going to confess something that might be controversial on this site. Also, I haven’t seen the finale so I do t have a complete picture of how the series ended. I preferred Kristen and David as temptations for one another - not lovers. He’s a priest and she’s a mother of four/five - they have commitments to honor that represent ideas I think are important, one of which is sacrifice. Conquering evil requires it - Rick’s decision at the end of Casablanca (1942). They were never in a love triangle, a romantic relationship was impossible due to circumstance, hence the real-world tension between them.
The problem with this add-on, four-episode series closeout is that the tension had to be substituted for explicit suggestions (characters stating things as opposed to doing things), which for episodic television sets up a conventional romantic expression, ie “ending up together”. My fear is that the writer/producers failed to give adequate dramatic stakes to sum up their complex relationship.

I mentioned some of those same complexities to their relationship when we first was put on to this show and got COOKED for it here. lol.
It is probably getting renewed thoughCo-sign. I don't think @ryanpaulstewart's point is actually that controversial in this thread. I remember also expressing during the 1st or 2nd season that I didn't see how David & Kristen getting together could work due to the obligations in their personal & professional lives. From that standpoint, ending the series with 'ship status being open-ended makes the most sense.

Heads up for the latest season of Bridgerton!
There are 2 potential wwbm couples in the family this time. The newest daughter to enter "society" this season, Francesca, is courted by a dark skinned brotha named Stirling. I think they're both on the spectrum somewhere, so could be a good match.
But the biggest potential shocker is that some rich bald headed brotha swooped in from out of town and clearly has his sights set on the Bridgerton mother! Not much happened there as of episode 4, but they're setting up something. Let's hope it's something good lol
The 2nd half of season 3 just dropped today, so we can all see what happens with all this.
@Young Herschel What did you think about the WGN series "Salem"?: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salem_(TV_series)
I liked that show much MUCH more than "Britannia". It kinda lost me in the last season but the first season was EVERYTHING. I was so surprised it was on WGN (seemed like an FX series with its MA sex and horror elements) and somewhat saddened that it was NOT released in the October. That would have been a no-brainer for marketing purposes. The story was intriguing and those characters were captivating. By the end of the second episode you will be hooked!!! Check it out on jailbreak firestick if only for the first few episodes but the entire first few seasons were good as well. By the end of the second episode I was 100% engaged and you will be too!!
What about Showtime's "Penny Dreadful"?
What about Showtime's "Penny Dreadful"?
I'm surprised to hear that from you becuz the OG "Penny Dreadful" show has Very Good-GREAT critic & audience scores on both Rotten Tomatoes & IMDB.I tried it but couldn't get into it. Tried the spin-off staring Margery Tyrell set in 1950's Los Angeles too. It has promise and I lasted longer but the homosexual stuff just went too far and so I stopped watching.

As far the homosexual stuff ruining the 2020 spin-off series for you, is it as bad or even worse than the homosexual stuff on "American Horror Story"? LOL.
That brother going for the 3 peat. After his romantic escapades with Quinn (Rena Sofer) in 2022 and Katie (Heather Tom) in 2023, Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) is on the brink of starting something new with Hope (Annika Noelle) on CBS' The Bold and the Beautiful.
