The Nerdz Lounge.

I know I'm probably in the minority on this, but i dont want the sword weilding "Greek Warrior" version of Wonder Woman in the new DCU. A sword and shield make her seem weaker in my opinion. She is one of the top ten strongest people in the DC universe. Why is she using a bladed weapon to fight? I can already hear some people compare her to Thor with Mjolnir, but Thor's weapon is enchanted and part of his mythology.

If Gunn has overall say on things, it's a safe bet IMO we'll get a classic take on Wonder Woman just based off the Superman that he introduced. Her heightened physical abilities & her enchanted lasso serve as the only weapons needed for a warrior of peace.

Doomquest Launches in May

Doctor Victor Von Doom sets out to change history in Doomquest, a new 10-issue maxiseries by Ryan North, writer of One World Under Doom, and Daredevil artist Francesco Mobili.

The story, which stands on its own, starts with Reed Richards’ plan to change history by going back in time and fixing everything that went wrong. Doom decides to beat him to it, the Fantastic Four get involved, and soon all parties are locked in a conflict that spans time and space. Marvel Comics will publish the first issue on May 27, 2026.

On one last grueling mission during Army Ranger training, a combat engineer must lead his unit in a fight against a giant otherworldly killing machine.

The comments section had me laughing. One commenter called it a "four beers before you watch it" movie. LOL

Alex Ross brings a new point of view to the Marvel Universe in his upcoming solo graphic novel Marvel Dimensions.

"This is my longest work to date that I have written and drawn myself," Ross said in a statement accompanying the announcement. "Dimensions is like a combination of my most famous works, Marvels and Kingdom Come, where my love of comic history and ambitious world-building collide."

The story starts with a look at the origin stories of Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Wolverine, and other iconic characters, all depicted in fully painted spreads, then shifts into a darker, more complex narrative that uses a layered structure and interlocking stories to draw the reader into the mystery at the center of the book.

The graphic novel includes a bonus 32-page comic that is an integral part of the storyline. On September 1, 2026, Abrams ComicArts will release Marvel Dimensions, a 112-page 8-1/2" x 11" hardcover with a bonus insert comic, priced at $29.99.
