That's what happens when you story tell & world build in reverse. Characters & concepts created initially to be throw away turn out to have more relevance to the bigger picture in hindsight.
Quite true!

I enjoyed The Mandalorian and Grogu. It wasn't as serious or entertaining as my favorite installments in this universe (Empire Strikes Back, ROTJ, Rogue One, Andor), and it had the old George Lucas Saturday afternoon serial feel to it, but I found it entertaining. Definitely worth the spend.

Lucasfilm and Production I.G. have announced that Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi, an eight-episode limited anime series, will premiere exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu on August 5, 2026.

Part of an all-new Star Wars: Visions Presents banner, which will be used to tell longer-form Star Wars: Visions stories, the limited series picks up not long after the events of the Visions shorts: The Ninth Jedi and The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope.

In the new series, Lah Kara continues to train in the ways of the Jedi under Margrave Juro. Kara goes on an epic journey of self-discovery as she and Juro’s small fellowship of Jedi-in-training embark on a quest to save her father.
