As valid as alot of the observations are in that bit, I find it ironic that this comes from the website of a satirical humour magazine. (A 'poor man's' version of MAD) This is tantamount to The ONION being looked to as a Prime Source of News. OpinionsCartoonStudios@Yahoo.Co.UK
I must say I was dissapointed when I and my two kids went to see The Princess and the Frog, I naively thought it was going to be a new take on the princess fairy tale but surprise..surprise she's a cook her Mother is a seamstress and they eat Gumbo for dinner, I reckon alot of us parents were ready for a modern take on the princess thing, maybe a princess Grace situation! I blow raspberries in it's general direction!
Misogynistic too, but I still enjoy some of their movies as well. Rewatched Snow White the other night though, and they just treated poor Dopey like crap. I never really paid attention to that as a child but my son pointed it out almost immediately, and he's right it's awful. If it hadn't been for his running commentary throughout the movie, I think I would not have been able to enjoy it at all.
I watched this fairly recently with my students and thought exactly the same thing!! It was shocking!
It really was, I don't know how I missed that before, though truthfully it's never been a favorite of mine and I've probably seen it twice in my entire life. Still I just wanted to line the rest of the dwarfs up and kick their asses for picking on poor Dopey.
