I can't open that webpage. I keep getting an error on my browser. Yes US spends millions on Aids. But thats not nearly enough for treatments of millions suffering with it. Alot of it goes to education and other crap instead of buying the expensive drugs to treat it. Not to mention all the money that gets lost in the pipeline.
this isnt a Christian nation and I never said it was. the example of the abortion was things that I dont want to have in our society as oppose to things liberals want. reread the statement again please
actually if you go to the website in google you will see that its not millions but billions being spent on AIDS
I thought we were talking about what taxes get spent on. Abortions are payed for by the people who get them.
many of the governments complain of the money going directly to the organizations that help the people. its the governments of the countries that keep it from going to treatment. but its not our responsibility as a governtment to have to funds everything in the AIDS process if the people wont stop the behavior. I believe that religious and nonprofit organizations are the vehicle for helping the countries and people, not the government. the governtment of this country isnt christian, but many people who live in the US are. and it is the church, mosque and synagogues responsibility not the govt.
Yes about $2-3 billion which is way below the money needed. I agree US is spending money on the disease. But how much of it actually makes it? And how much is actually spent effectively?
talk to the countries that receive it and ask them, we fund it, why should we tell the countries how to spend it. they are not entitled to the money, we give it as our committment to fighting the disease, but countries have to have some atonomy.
Look at the stipulations and thats money added up over the years. It will still be far behind. 33% for abstinence only programs. Those programs don't work in the US. Why do they think they will work around the world?
if they dont like America, dont take their money. so thats why i am not for it or other spending when the people receiving the money are not grateful for what they get.
hopefully they wont go to condoms, some will i am sure. they have worked in Uganda. abstinence should be there instead of condoms though
though i think funds should be cut by half, as it is not working because people will not stop their behavior
They should probably take that 33% and spend it on education about aids. Especially after I heard about babies being raped in South Africa because people were given misinformation. About how doing that would get rid of aids.
Religious schools don't really work when it comes to abstinence. I remember when I was in the school. The girls who went to schools like sacred heart. Were the sluttiest girls around. When I was in high school there were orgy parties and they were the majority there.
who is talking about religious schools? did you even open the site? it was about the spending on AIDS not about religious schools. 33% should be spent on building democratic infrastructures and business infrastructures, abstinence programs, education on behavior, health care, and medicines
