My own opinion? Well I'll keep it short and sweet. A homosexual will not be a president in my lifetime. Why you ask? Because what us liberals refuse to understand is the fact that god is deeply embedded in the hearts of most of this country, whether we go to church every sunday or not. I have many gay and lesbian friends. Attended my first lesbian wedding in September and it was beautiful. However, i'm in Massachusetts, one of A HANDFUL of states that allows that to happen. Actually if i'm current the ONLY 1. Are you catching what i'm pitching bro? We accept it. DADT just got repealed today. However, it doesn't mean we'll VOTE for it to BE OUR LEADER.

Talking to people that come to boston to go to college from all over this fine country, and the world for that matter, i find the most interesting feelings towards the "ideal" of the president. People really think of that office as an extension of themselves. They really want the president to be an extension of THEMSELVES, more so than of the rest of the american people. It was really unusual to me at first, but i kinda get it now.

Just look at that post with the pic of Clinton and Bush. It says it all. People got so in an uproar for the President of the United States becoming a tabloid story. But someone can tell a lie and get 5000 americans killed and he gets away scott free.

It simply comes down to one thing: Look at the presidential returns map over the last 40 years and see how many are RED states. Again, liberals need to understand this completely: WE ARE LIVING IN A CONSERVATIVE LEANING ERA IN AMERICAN HISTORY. Democrat or no democrat in the white house. These conservatives believe very firmly in the idea of family values, and most of those core values are somehow related to religion and god, primarily christian, but all religions as a whole. These are still the facts of these times.

 

Soon or later, we will be voting first-ever Atheist or Homosexual President, just in matters of time.

Being an atheist doesn't mean your going to be single or a bachelor forever. You can get married without having a religious service, though probably not in James Buchanon's era.

A Presidential candidate's ability to eliminate the deficit, create a robust economy with affordable excellent health care and leave the social issues to the states and communities to decide is more important to me than the candidate's sexual orientation, fidelity, or religious bent.

 

Presidents don't have the authority to do any of that shit.

 

The President has the ability to lead the Congress and you better know I'll do my part to elect senators and representatives that also will work towards eliminating the deficit, creating a robust economy with affordable excellent health care and leaving the social issues to the states and communities to decide.

 

Congress is owned by Wall Street just like the Presidency.

SIGHHHH! Help me out here. Living here in Africa away from all the American advertising maybe I missed something about homos. I didn't get the memo explaining how their interests are paramount in every sociopolitical issue-please break it down for me,how allowing open homos to serve in the US military is a triumph for the world at large.

Who vastly inflated their importance with the effect that the entire Angloworld must now literally bend over to appease them? Was it Oprah,Tyra Skanks or their hordes of enablers and cheerleaders?
