I think Romney won the debate. He appeared more prepared, more calm, and he didn't stumble over his words nearly as much as Obama did. Obama didn't seem on his game tonight.
I don't think anybody hit a home run, but Romney didn't do bad and Obama could have done better. I don't know why Obama didn't pour it on about the 47%.
What is he going to talk about in the 2nd or third debate? running out of material... save for the last.
I wish the debate format was more conducive to a free form discussion. Because there were several times when I wanted both men to continue with what they were saying, but they kept getting cut off. And was it just me or did Obama look pissed off a few times? It looked like he was fixing to cuss Romney out.
I didn't think he was frustrated or angry. but no question 2008 Obama didn't show up tonight. I don't know what the f he is doing. but makes me wish Bill was back.
Agreed, but I have to keep in mind that Obama still has to captain the ship while running for office. Romney can devote himself full time to persue the job LOL. Never could or would vote for Romney, but pissed he took credit for Massachusetts being #1 in education(which is scary considering the test score variances between the rich and poor communities in this state) when he has been out of office for 6 years. BTW Romney owns homes in New Hampshire and Cali too, so he does not live here anymore, at least full time.
I didn't hear a thing about what they are going to do for archangel. or how they will bring down debt.
How are you going to take a dump on Ma. and get their vote at the same time? That is why he couldn't do a rebuttal.
Comparatively, Romney was more aggressive as the contender, sounded better. Obama was more reserved and "presidential", but wasn't as lucid. Substantively, it's a wash, no one said anything that made them look bad (Romney's Habit), unless people actually remember Romney's contradicting statements.
Massachusetts have NEVER gone Republican in a Presidential election, We did have string of Republican governors 4 in a row that ended with Mitty. He was forced to work in a bipartisan manner here, but that would not be the case in DC
It doesn't matter who wins the debates. Romney has too steep a hill to climb to win next month. Barring any calamitous scandals and this is Obama we're talking about, Romney loses because he'd have to pull of an unprecedented turnaround in the battleground states to win. Kerry won all three debates in 2004 and still lost in November.
Eh. John Kerry did a lot of talking without saying much of anything substantial. He used misdirection a lot.
True that Ma. is more blue than any other state that I know of but It would still look bad to knock down the reputation of fixing education. You might also get offended democrats that might not show up at the poles. Look at his folly with Las Vegas.
He has too. But I am sure that like all Presdients running for reelection that he is in constant touch with what his staff is doing during his absence as he is STILL accountable, so he is STILL doing twice the work of Romney.
Mitt Romney hit it out of the park easy win. Obama has always been a bad debater. Mccain & Hilary out debated Obama but they wasn't aggressive. It's all about optics even tho Obama argument had more substance. Romney appeared to be the stronger candidate. I think this stopped the bleeding for Romney. I think the dems got over confident and start celebrating to soon. Romney will most definitely get a bounce from this. We won't no the entire impact until the coming days.
