Interesting Rolling Stone article on the GOP primaries:

"No, it was while watching the debates last night that it finally hit me: This is justice. What we have here are chickens coming home to roost. It's as if all of the American public's bad habits and perverse obsessions are all coming back to haunt Republican voters in this race: The lack of attention span, the constant demand for instant gratification, the abject hunger for negativity, the utter lack of backbone or constancy (we change our loyalties at the drop of a hat, all it takes is a clever TV ad): these things are all major factors in the spiraling Republican disaster.

Most importantly, though, the conservative passion for divisive, partisan, bomb-tossing politics is threatening to permanently cripple the Republican party. They long ago became more about pointing fingers than about ideology, and it's finally ruining them."

Unfortunately, as "they" become more desperate to advance their segmented agendas, we can only expect more derisive tactics and rhetoric aimed at a naive public divided by class, religion, tradition...

I wonder if this is how Republicans felt watching Obama and Clinton back in 08. Except the Democratic Party wasn't imploding like the GOP is now.

I've been following public opinion on Rush's latest "slut" rant... America's right wing voting public is truly misinformed on facts and quick to accept his word as gospel...

While I'm not surprised, I find it amazing that not a single Republican candidate called it for what it essentially was...

I guess they're still searching for a rallying point and using their puppets to find a uniting theme... :smt067

The conservative mindset has been moving further and further right for years now, while the liberal mindset has moved more to the center or at most right of center. Obama being elected only allowed the extreme thinking conservatives to fully voice themselves more openly and without shame. The fact that any moderate leaning conservatives are now looked upon as too liberal speaks volumes about where this party is and why none of the current candidates have called Limbaugh out.
