Legal Woes on Bridge Scandal The 2016 potential presidential nominee is doing damage control now on the account of a scandal that has slowly erupted into the media, mainly through MSNBC and CNN. The issue here deals with some jammed up traffic and it was purposely done as an act of revenge because the mayor of Fort Lee, Mark Sokolich refused to endorse him for reelection. That sparked a great of outrage and it's a sign of revenge. Christie's no stranger for his straight-talk approach, but it eventually bit him in the ass on this situation. Can he save his reputation before the elections? If not...then what are the chances of him actually becoming a nominee? I'll give my take on it later.
New Jersey politics. It sparked a lot of discussion at the dinner table. I remember I had served Governor Tom Keane(everybody in NJ loved Tom Keane), one commisioner, two state senators and the heir to M&M/MARS. worked at a function for Jim Florio. Jim Florio was a handsome big man who sported a 1950s pompadour that was easy to spot. He was running for Governor at the time and he won. But, was later impeached because of a financial scandal. Then came Jim McGreevey's woes. And then another governor( I forgot his name) was in a car accident on his way to do a show with Don Imus for calling the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hoes." And now, Chris Christie. I know and understand his his type. He comes across as a realist, but he is more like Tony Soprano. He understands leadership, yet he needs work on communicating the goals of his administration to the people. He understands the importance of making appearances. He was a hard case until Hurricane Sandy softened him up a little and he saw what he had to do. He had been harping over this NJ/NYC connection for years and hoped it would work so the project would produce jobs. I don't see anything wrong with the GWB. It is a very busy bridge and I am sure that the DOT in both NJ and NY are looking into the maintenance of the bridge. It is they, who do this job.
