I guess he has come to the realization that he can never run for political office in Tennesse again show it's time to get settle down and get married.

Being a conservative democrat did hurt his chances for the senate race was one of the reasons the other was the "white girl" campaign ad by his opponent.

 

The girl is hot.

As for politics, well, it's been a great experience, hasn't it?

 

Hate to burst your bubble...but, I hear he may make another run for the US senate next year. Or, I hear, he might run for governor of Tenn. No shit.

I hate to burst your bubble, but he just sealed his own fate, by marrying that white woman. There is no way in hell, whites or blacks who oppose IR unions would vote for him. He lost the last race, and there were just rumors about him dating a ww, but now those rumors are confirmed because he just married one. Its unfortunate, but his career is over.

 

He isn't married yet -- just engaged. This is '07. I don't think opposition to interracial marriages is quite as strong as you'd like to believe. The Repubs are under the sewer right now, thanks to the buffoon in the White House, plus their own stupidity. If he decides to run next year for either ofc...he's got great odds of winning. He runs an almost perfect campaign.

Racism still exists Kid. Take Wilder who was governor of Virginia for example. He has not become a senator like other former governors of that state. When those whites vote they vote for their own kind. Also in Louisiana those whites would vote for a candidate of Indian ancestry than a African-American for governor. Tennessee like most southern states will never vote for a black man as senator or governor. Sadly the African-American vote is not strong enough to elect one of their own in the seat of governor or senator where they are the majority.

 

I'm not naive. I just don't see any proof that that ad was the reason why Harold Ford Jr lost the senate race in Tenn. Did any voter in Tenn state that he/she won't vote for him cause of the ad??? What y'all are stating that if that ad had not aired...he would have won the senate seat. Pure bullshit!

If he runs again -- and wins -- y'alls theory about why he lost goes right down the toilet.
