When I first joined this site, almost a year ago, I looked at wwbm.com as therapy. I didn't know why after so many years of staying loyal to the sistas, that I gradually began to crave the ivory princesses. Was I mad at bw? If I don't ever date a ww, would I regret it later on in life? Are ww really all that? What will the sistas think? All of those questions crossed my mind as I joined wwbm.com. Now here we stand at wwbm.com trying the dust off the debris that was left behind by last week's ugly storm of insults wondering what is to become of white women and black men dating. Some of the things said last week by some posters was so harsh that it's likely to turn ww and bm against each other permanently. So I'm curious to know where you stand concerning interracial dating right now. By the way, this is my 500th post! Peace.
Well I'd first like to say I've never been with a BW before. So WW and Latin Women were nothing new to me. As far as if I'll still keep trying out WW, I'm not sure if I will. I can't predict if I'll pursue her if she comes along. I'll let time run it's course and see what presents itself as it comes. For the most part, I've noticed it can be a little bit more stressful being with a WW because I'm a BM. There's just so much negative history behind the whole thing in America so, it's bound to have a potential backlash at one point or another. Other than that, I don't have issues with dating WW or any kind of woman for that matter. Just depends on the person
This is the internet. I dont take it seriously enough to let it change anything about my real life. I date who I like and who treats me best. No matter their color. I had my first serious black boyfriend in 1978. It isnt about dating a black man over a white man. When we are together, we are just two people in a relationship. Same as anyone else. I cant recall one single instance in which my color or their color ever came up in a disagreement or argument. It isnt about that at all. And if it is, then you need to reassess your own priorities.
In response to the original question, mine would have to be no the rather straight-forward NO. Neither this site, nor any other site has brought me closer to white women as this is the internet so i do not need any electronical features to convey my socio-mental issues for/with me. When i joined this site on the 22nd of November 2005-in fact, i remember my very 1st post-, i didnt necessarily see this site as therapy since the only person who can offer me the mental, physical and spiritual therapy i want/need is the man up there. I joined this website because i felt this would be a place for bm and ww to express their views of society at large and engage each other in meaningful debates without the use of profane, explicit and offensive language. So far, that just seems to be what is going on here. Ranging from undeserved comments about people’s weight to racial generalisations stemmed out of stupidity, we have had a couple of immature people make comments that you would not even expect a 12 year old to make. Just to set the record straight, i am not solely attracted to white women. I am not, never have and never will be solely attracted to white women. I date people based on their personalities and not their color. I had my first serious relationship with a white woman in 2000. I saw it as just that; a relationship like any other one and i didnt do anything beyond my imagination because she was white. Dating a white woman is no big deal as she's just a human like any other woman and if it is for any of you or any black man in general, you need a visit to the psychotherapist.
Your kidding right? Mosiah have you ever dated a white woman? I am just curious because your idealization of this relationship seems to be off the charts here. White women are people first, women second, and white wherever you or they want to put that. People are people: Some you love; Some you can't stand; Some you just want to put your foot in their ass. Speaking of putting foots in people's asses, there have been episodes on this and other IR boards that make what happen last week look like pattycake. But, the same people are still here. In fact, if you can't handle what happened last week, then you should not date IR because it aint easy. Anyway the answer to your question is NO. It has given me a better sense of how other people who date IR feel about IR issues though.
First of all, I have to agree that this is only the Internet, and if you think that these things won't happen in real relationships outside of the net in the real world, then you are only feeding your imagination. Second, this site would never be enough for me to give up dating (or marrying) white women, however, if things don't work out with them altogether, then yes, I will date black women exclusively, but only for that reason, and that reason alone. I am attracted to some black women and Latinas also, but regardless, I am still more attracted to white women, not just because they are white, but because they are sexier to me, however, none of this goes for all of them in no shape or form. Third, no, this site hasn't brought me closer, and it hasn't pushed me away either. I will still post here as long as I am welcome to, and so far, I still am.
I think the posts here often do more harm than good. Putting myself in the shoes of someone who's just curious (esp a ww), if I just happened upon this site I think I would be turned off...
A couple of really dull, prissy egotists (no names named) pick at minutia to take most threads off-track into boring bickering... That's mostly what's wrong with the discussions here... It's often the same guy who'll offer up one-line posts like: "I agree with so and so...", because somewhere in his mind he thinks the world is waiting on edge to know what he thinks... lol
Nice to know that I have such a lasting impression in your mind. Try to stay on topic from now on, if you can that is.
I wouldn't say that this site has brought me closer to bm. I enjoy reading and posting on this site as a means of communicating w/ others on issues dealing w/ dating someone outside of your race. The site has facilitated open conversations with those that I may never have the opportunity to meet, but feel like I know in a small way. It hasn't eased my conversation w/ bm in real life. However, it has allowed me to see another perspective in an efficient manner. As for the squabbles, I could care less of the race of the person. I am not so racist to believe that all bm who date ww insult them, like 1 or 2 bm have done here and vice versa w/ the ww. That would be ridiculous. In real life there are people who get on my nerves. Why wouldn't I meet people that get on my nerves here?!? P.S. I really like that picture, Mo
