I knew that people were going to complain about Obama after he took office no matter what he did.

 

That could describe every elected official. People complain about every President that takes office.

 

Like I said before, Wall Street/Government/Corporate America is us, and we want change. It may be a bit difficult to change over night, it always is in a democracy, that's one of the draw backs, but we don't want aristocracy do we?

I don't want to generalize an entire population, I will say this though, when I had the opportunity to visit black communities across the nation with the official Obama campaign, there were things that I thought were similar and held us back as a people. Generally stuck in the past, the way we live hasn't progressed, our thought process hasn't progressed enough, our habits (even down to dress) are stuck in the past and haven't progressed enough. I had been thinking about that while I was on that trip...I was thrown a return party by one of my boys, he had his family there and why did he have several aunts and uncles rockin jheri curl, glasses from the fifties, old cars...this stuff was straight out of a Tyler Perry flick.

Naw, we do that for ourselves.

You and a few others speak about Corporate American/Government/Wall Street as if they are some type of alien race. They are us, we are the greedy, whoremonger bastards that end up swindling people. This is what Obama was talking about, we need to take some repsonsbility for things. We need to look out for our brother like we used to (it definitely happened more in the past than it does now). We have become so individualistic, so opportunisitc, selfish, among other things.

I took the "call to arms" by Obama seriously, I try to help people no matter how small or how big, if I can't afford it or help you, I'll find someone that can. And I'm not trying to write a ticket to heaven, I don't want a pat on my back, I just want people to move further, if they move further, WE move further.

 

I tried to rep you for this FRESH, but can't yet. I will though as soon as I'm able. This is outstanding!

I may not be running for office like Arch or Anten, but I can still have an impact. People get so disullusioned, a lot of people are looking at these huge issues and saying we have to change, true, but we can start small, baby steps. We all know "it's the little things that count," "It's sometimes the smallest things that move us." People want to get rid of pennies, but you can't have a nickel without the pennies that come before it. It can be beneficial to start small and end big. If people felt like their neighbor would look out for them like we used to, that's a powerful thing, "there's power in numbers" lol...I' speak about this so much because I'm passionate about my own neighbors, block, and community... *I'm off the soap box*

 

That's a misnomer. The biggest part of the delusion of democracy is that everyone has an equal say, everyone can make a difference that's all horseshit. One thing remains true as long as there is an ownership class and labor class that depends on them this shit will not and can not change. Our current system is built on the premise that for a few to do well they have to take advantage of and fuck the many.

 

I never said everyone is saying things equal, but society is setup as such that you have the opportunity to have your say so heard, it's up to you to speak loudly and clear enough. Our system is not built on taking advantage of people, people just abuse the system. There will always be people that abuse the system, bend or ignore the rules, test the limits, but this is needed, as sometimes those things can have positive outcomes. There are many theories about labor class/working class, cheap labor, etc., but one thing rings true in all of them in, everywhere, there will always be a bottom, there can't be a top with a bottom, but I agree in sense that the bottom should be respected as people, individuals, etc just as the "financially top" people are.

 

I read something in college, and though I can't remember who wrote it, or the exact wording for sure, it stuck with me and anytime I hear 'power in numbers' it always comes to mind. "Nothing is as delicate and transient as a single snowflake, and yet an avalanche is an unsurpassable force." That's pretty close I think, but you get the gist of the saying... there's power in numbers, even the smallest thing in great numbers can have a major impact.

 

People rarely unify and when they do its for a short time. We are all sleep walking. In order for people to wake up its gonna have to be something so catastrophic its gonna have to take out a good chunk of human existence. I've said it before and I will say it again we're the only species on the planet with the intelligence to stock pile food yet 40000 people starve to death per day. We can't even come together to feed everyone and you guys expect people to figure out how distribute other things equally?

 

Yes I agree that humans as a whole typically don't do a great job lookin' out for one another, however we do have the ability. Just because someone else chooses to go with the 'me first, screw the rest of you' mentality, doesn't mean I have to. I believe that selfishness is an unfortunate trait that a whole bunch of people seem to have, but some of them can and will eventually learn to do better. No, you can't change the entire world, but you can sure as hell change yourself, do what you know is right, and hope that it rubs off on others.
