Well unfortunately since the previous guy had 8 years to screw everything up, it's gonna take a bit to sort it all out. If Obama can manage it in 4 years then that's impressive IMO, considering what a major f-ing mess they dumped in his lap.
This is the unassailable point that the assholes keep dancing around. By this time in Bush's administration, he'd already spent at least a month on vacation clearing brush in Crawford, TX. Yet when Obama took his wife to a Broadway play over a single weekend, the Right cried like bitches.
With a little Google research I bet you can find a list(s) of what Bush/Cheney and the Right did to fuck America up in the first place.
Agreed. It's amazing how people were crying for change and improvement before the election, then the instant it was over they act like it was all a fantastic utopia until Obama got elected and now it's suddenly gone to hell. :smt011
You are witnessing racial double standards played out across the national stage. The old maxim about a black man having to be three times as good as a white man to get the same result is writ large here. The white guy and his team had eight years to mess it up, but they don't give the black guy one year to fix it. And it's not like any of this is even BHO's fault. He'd have to get elected to a second term just to enact his own agenda.
I agree on the need for a second term. However, I don't think the criticism is entirely racially based. I remember people (translation conservatives a.k.a. Republicans) bitching in a similar fashion about Clinton when he was elected. It appears to be what they do when they lose.
Please, his approval ratings aren't even that bad as the right is making them out to be, 46-50% considering we're in the middle of a recession. No president in a recession is going to have high approval ratings, so I don't know why people want to discuss approval ratings like its a big mystery that they aren't in the 60s, 70s or 80s, yeah right. People get angry in these times and have no one else to lash out agianst, so it a given that they will take their frustration out on Washington. Its well documented that Reagan's approval ratings were in the early 30s at this time in his presidency, even after he got shot his approval ratings still plumetted to around 29-30%. Obama's approval ratings haven't dropped that low yet and hopefully it won't, but a second term all depends on what the job numbers are and what the economy looks like in 2 1/2yrs, if Health Care gets passed and also who the rethugs run for president. Mitt Romney was just quoted about a week ago saying the economy will recovery in about a year or two, but he stated that Obama would try to take the credit for it, but shouldn't. Which I don't see how Obama can't since its his administration doing all the work. I think Obama will get a second term, he, David Plouff and David Axlerod have a method to their madness, they know how to win elections and thats the bottom line.
Actually, I dont need to use google to see those things thank you. I can see them on my own. Bush did fuck up, but im not gonna dwell on it forever like many people do. No point to it and its non productive. Still doesnt change the fact that I think Barry is messing shit up himself.
Hahaha, no point in dwelling on the bullshit Republican policies that got us here in the first place, let's just emphasize on how "Barry" (after only 1 year) is "messing shit up." Got it.
Oh yes, the Repubs were indeed against Clinton, I remember it quite well! But you must concede that a racial element is in play when the opposition is a) overwhelmingly white, male and Southern, and b) their arguments are completely irrational and not grounded in fact. Nobody shouted "You Lie!" during any of Clinton's addresses.
