Tyson Gay (USA) 2007 World champion and the only man to run the 100 in under 9.70s wind ran a 9.68 (wind aided) at the trails currently has run the 3rd fastest legal time ever at 9.77 Usain Bolt (JAM) Current world record holder @ 9.72s, beat Tyson Gay earlier this year when he set the world record, considered a better 200 m sprinter though Asafa Powell (JAM) Former World record holder current holds the second fastest time ever at 9.74s, one of only two men to have run legally under 9.80 seconds more than once
yeah..could have run faster as well, if he didnt ease up with 10 metres to go...That Asafa has real mind problems though..
shit... nobody beats Michael Johnson, his upright board running stance, and his pimped-out gold track shoes. j/k I'll see if I can catch that Bolt guy on a 100m replay show.
Who's sane? Usain! Who's sane? Usain! That dude is ridiculous...I almost think he wanted to save some in the tank so in the near future he can set the world record so low..that no one can touch him... 9.69 is crazy not only because he slowed down at the end but because he is a notoriously slow starter...he's always either the last or next to last man out of the blocks. If he ran a race where he started quickly and didn't slow down...the dude could run a 9.5 flat or close to it.
you know... i'm not as critical on times as I used to be... seriously if they're clocking guys by hand, wouldn't that be prone to be inaccurate. I mean, a slight delay in stoppage, even by a fraction of a second, can mean the difference between breaking a world record, or just running as fast as everyone else. Sorta like the old ball coach in high school, who clocks everyone with a stopwatch. If he was faster on the trigger, maybe I woulda ran a 4.2. I should write a paper on that. Break that shiet down to a science
Co-sign Oh yeah...I have to give a shout out to my fellow Lake Highlands High School Alumni, Darvis "Doc" Patton...even though he finished last (but 10.03 seconds is nothing to sneeze at...unless you're Usain Bolt) he still showed grace....and I think he's apart of either one or two of the relays...so go get em' Doc. I think more than anything...it was the ease with which he ran. The guys out there were top flight sprinters running as fast as they could and Bolt looked as if he was coasting.
Actually I think it's to Usain's benefit not to smash the record...Every time athletes break a record they make money. I'm sure within the next few years he will break his own world records a few more times...and make millions in the process... Anyone heard of that Russian pole vaulter who is miles ahead of her competitors, and has broken the world record 23 times...and on most occasions by barely a cm...Yelena Isinbaeva I think her name is.. she definately got things worked out..
well...people who seen him run that last race, say that he let up towards the end... maybe he did that on purpose, so that he could have a good chance at taking down that time, later on... people love a broken record, right
lol...actually my friend... Bolt just defeated M. Johnsons 200m record by two hundreths of a second..... A hell of a way to celebrate your 22nd birthday
Lightning Bolt is not only fast and sexy- he's funny too! That's a winning combination! :smt023 :smt026
big deal.... i would like to see the Michael Johnson, who ran back in the 90s, go up against the bolt who just ran this month. I'll take a good ol' fashioned foot race, over a clocked-time anyday.
Lightning Bolt did it again! He's the man!!! I was having dinner over at a friend's house last night and we were all watching the olympics and I said would you look at his body-and especially that JUICY BOOTY!!! and for a minute there I forgot a friend of mine's mother was there!!! (well at least all my friends know I am fond of a juicy booty)!!! LOL.
Bookworm-I saw your men last night! :smt023 :smt023 :smt026 . I see what you're talking about!!! Wow-that David Oliver!
