I've never heard anyone complain -until now- about having to pay taxes for stem cell research. This research on previous discarded embryos can be potentially life saving for you, your family, and friends. This sounds like a wise investment to me.

On the other hand, Americans seem to have no problem throwing money at bullshit wars. I'm thinking of a bumper stick I once saw, "GOP right to life: Starts at conception, and ends at birth, SUCKERS!"

 

csbean I like to play with the minds of some here to get a reaction, not you. I can agree with you. Even Nancy Reagan supports such research. She felt that had that research been permitted when her husband Ronald Reagan came done with his illness there might have been a chance to save him from suffering. We see from history of science some of the greatest discoveries came about by accidental findings in the most unexpected ways. Basic reserach is what has giving us everything from medical cures to the technological tool of the computer. The reason so many people have reservations about what they think is playing God is from the past historic horrors of the Nazi medical doctors of the second world war who violate all decency of humanity.
