It really doesn't mean anything if the Republican Party in California has weakened severely. If that was the case, then I would think Prop 8 and Prop 19 would have easily passed without second thoughts.
Thanks to the hispanic voters in both Cali and Nevada, the Repubs were given a sound defeat. The Repubs are going to have to embrace the largest minority group in the country if they expect a rat's ass chance of winning in key states with large hispanic populations. They will never get the black vote, they need to court the hispanic vote since they claim to love those groups who work extremely hard, and have stable family structures.
You are correct on that point, Blacktiger. Unfortunately, the republicans always need a "villain" to rile up their base which are white christians. If the republicans can have some sort of middle ground with the latino voters maybe things can change in California and anywhere else in the south west. But I doubt it.
