Should I Pay Taxes? Need a Tax Revolt

I'm mad as hell. I'm going to have to pay out money on taxes because I make too much money. While these damn tax cheats in our government can get away (until they are caught) from paying taxes, we the everyday guy get screwed again. We are working for nothing and giving our money away to those who sit on their asses and do not do jackshit. Hell, our Treasury Secretary is one of the biggest tax cheats and he is damanding that I pay my taxes. Just add me to a growing movement of people who are sick and tired of being robbed by our government. Wesley Snipes, brother I feel your pain. We need a new American Revolution now.

Yes for people who earn over $250,000 annually, they can expect a 3% jump from 36% to 39% in what they pay in income taxes.

If you earn below that, congratulations you won't pay an extra dime to the federal government. If you earn that or more, congratulations as well.

Did the Clinton administration love to tax the hell out of people? It's the same tax structure as what we saw during the booming '90s, which existed alongside the largest peacetime expansion of the U.S. economy in its history and creation of 22 million jobs.

Yes. And if no-one paid tax, you wouldn't have roads, water, governance, police....etc, etc, etc. NOTHING comes for free. If you should be complaining about anything, it's that you don't have more shown for your taxes.

Forgive me for having no sympathy that you "earn too much" and have had to pay more tax.

If you don't have enough money to live, then it's because of your lifestyle choices.

So the answer is - Yes - pay your tax. Be a decent citizen. Be happy you have the services you do and if there is a huge issue with the use of those taxes, then complain and use your vote for change.

In light of recent events, if you honestly think that the working class and the middle class (if such a thing even exists anymore in this country) are being harmed more by the people who receive assistance from social programs than the people at the top, then you're absolutely fucking clueless.

There's a significant group of people in this country who pay no income tax at all, because their earning is so low (or nonexistent). Would you have them start paying, regardless of their earnings? Or would you simply excuse the rich of any income tax at all, to make their rate even with that of the poor?

 

I agree. To demand a higher rate of tax as you earn more is in fact punishment for success.

The last thing the government should be doing is holding back success, innovation and enterprise. In fact, lowering taxes has the added effect of increasing overrall tax revenue:

Someone who makes so little money he/she doesn't pay tax, can probably not afford a car. Is it fair that someone who can't even aford a car, have to pay for roads? Cause that's one of the things tax money are used to...

And is it fair that someone who makes so little money, should have to pay for roads, and thus starve because he can't aford food? Or die because he/she can't afford medical bills?

People with more money, are more likely to use roads, they polute more (or as an american would say: they are better cosumers) etc etc, so they don't just make more money, they cost more too. Is it fair that poor people should suffer even more to support rich people's expensive habits?

BTW: why complain about higher taxes??? Obama was clear fro day one he would increase taxes, and you all voted for him. You got what you wanted. Now be happy!
