Should women rule the world consider how men are screwing up the affairs of the human race. They seem to be better at multi-tasking and do it quite well. Also they seem to understand the human condition and have empathy to solve problems better than men?

i agree with all that you have said, but our empathy and emotions can also make us irrational at times (oh & some not all needs to added). i think the men ruling are more interested in power and status.

I love the idea that Women could do it better, but nah, not really. When you boil it all down, Men and Women are actually pretty much the same. We are equally corruptible, equally given to greed and ambition.

I think Margaret Thatcher pretty much proved that Women are just as capable of ruining the world as Men.

Interesting, how did Margaret Thatcher ruin the world?

Is this something that women in leadership positions can control?

I wasn't trying to say she ruined it, merely that she was capable of doing so.

I'm not a fan of how she ran things, economically, with relation to Ireland, with relation to South Africa, or, well, just about anything. Women would supposedly be more nurturing, less war-hungry, blah blah, but Thatcher's administration if anything was cold, violent and right wing.

Heck, V for Vendetta was based on Thatcher's England. That movie's not exactly what the "Women should rule the world!" crowd envisions, I think.

I agree with GZ. But why not give the women a try? Most of the men in power are schmucks anyway!

I think women would make much better leaders than men. Men are very left brained when it comes to decision making which in some cases is good but I think we are less sympathetic to the human cause. War, famine, poverty, and human rights would be much better if women primarily ran the world. Somewhat of topic but I women are much more important in terms of human survival than men.

I don't get that at all. If you mean because women have children, that's not possible without male involvement.

As to the OP's question, no I don't think women are necessarily any better equipped to rule than men. Anyone who has the ability to look at what benefits the majority of the population, versus merely what benefits them or advances their own selfish agenda, will do well. That's a quality that can be found in men and women.

ESPY on average a man produces 1,000 sperm per second. That is 60,000 every minute and 3.6 million in an hour. In a day a man could have produced 86.4 million sperm in a day. In a week a healthy adult male could produce 604.8 million sperm. In theory one man could produce half the population of India. Normally a woman can have only 1 child per year. Most women are able to have kids by 15 and experience menopause by 55. At best a woman could only have 40 children in that time frame. How many off spring could a man produce in a 40 yr window if he had access to all the women he wants. A population of 1 million men could easily maintain the Earth population. You can't say that for women. Women>>>Men.

Whatever you think. But let me just point out that one without the other is completely useless. So in my mind if I can't achieve the objective without you, and you can't achieve the objective without me, we are of equal importance in achieving the objective. The fact that you can achieve that objective with greater frequency is irrelevant if you have no one to get with frequently, and the fact that I cannot achieve the objective as frequently is irrelevant if I have no one to get with even infrequently.

Additionally, not all sperm will hit their mark and the vast majority are completely wasted, so the increased number really isn't that impressive.

No question it takes two to tangle but I feel women are more critical to reproduction than men. After ejaculation the man job is done. For the woman its just getting started. Damn a woman not agreeing with a man that says women are more important than me. I thought ya'll wanted to be appreciated. Shocking!!!

The world hardly has a problem with reproduction at the moment. In fact, if there was one issue least important to human survival at the moment... okay, well it would probably be about American Idol. But after that! It would be about reproduction.

We as a species seem to have that part covered. It's everything else we have a problem with.

Trying to rule the world always seems to be a fruitless endeavor. We'd be better off if we took time trying to share the world.

Only if it's deserved. IMO women are not more important than men. Human beings are equal, gender doesn't change that.
