I'm not about to jump on the "YEA THE GOVERNMENT GIVE-US-US FREE" bandwagon. What the government did for blacks it did to promote itself and to promote Commerce. It called itself the champion of freedom so it could not in good faith continue to exclude black-Americans from the very same freedom it claimed to be fighting for. It would be hard for the US to talk about the atrocities of the rest of the world while at the same time not allowing proper health care its citizens.

Yes, things have changed for blacks in this country but we can't pretend it was all done is our best interest and not the best interest of this country. And even now things are still not equal for the Negro in this country either in its laws, or its application, nor in its social presentation.

No, I'm not anti-government nor do I believe the government have delivered us from evil.
