The question is why what passes for the left which is really center-right, and the far right which passes for the right both won't do what's best for everyone. And the answer is - because they are both in hock to the corporations.

I think when you start talking about corporations, they don't *have* a how much figure. We need to change the way we fund elections, for a start. I'm all for a limited election/campaign window, like in the UK, and public funding. Get the corporate money out of the pictures so maybe the politicians might feel indebted to the people again, instead of companies.

 

Unfortunately Elections are won by who has the most money. Every winner of an American election whether local congressional or presidential has always been won by the guy with the most money since Jackson I believe. Definitely with in our lifetimes.

 

Which is why public financing ONLY would make a difference.

Co-sign. And I'm old enough that the older parents of some of my friends had lived in Nazi Germany. One of them had a tattoo on her arm from time in Auschwitz. Fascism wasn't something out of a dusty history book, or a joke like SNLs long running "General Franco is still dead" routine.

Fascism is scary folks. Combine in religion, which the far right Dominionists are trying to do, and it's a recipe for wholesale slaughter and world wide warfare.

What I meant was that he was a fuckin weirdo overall! Hes for the gay shit man!! My comment had nothing to do with his racial orgin. Of couse how stupid would I be to have a beef with his race when Im black myself!

 

I reacted to that too - wtf! That was stunning to read to say the least.... and he is calling himself mandingo on top of that. Dude has been on for a second and I already put him on ignore.

 

There are more than a few "stupid" individuals here already that have issues with race, especially when it comes to children of black male & white female unions.
